Scrape Instagram Comments with Airset Generator
2 mins read - Created on Dec 05, 2025Instagram posts and reels often receive large volumes of comments that reflect real consumer reactions, sentiment, and engagement. With Kimola’s Airset Generator — a Chrome browser extension — you can automatically collect these comments and send them to your Kimola Dashboard for analysis.
Each dataset you create with the extension becomes an Airset, which stores raw Instagram comments. All Airsets are saved under Datasets → Airsets in your dashboard, where they can later be reviewed, managed, or used to generate reports.
This article explains how to scrape Instagram comments step by step.
Make sure you have the Airset Generator installed and set up on your Chrome browser, and that your API Key is connected to the extension. If you haven’t completed setup yet, follow this guide: Set up the Airset Browser Extension
Step 1: Open the Instagram Post
Go to instagram.com and open the post or reel whose comments you want to collect. Make sure you are logged into your Instagram account because Instagram does not show all comments to logged-out users.
Step 2: Load All Visible Comments
Click “View all comments” (or “View replies” for threaded comments) until the page displays all the comments you want to scrape. The Airset Generator can only collect comments that are visible on the screen, so expanding them beforehand is necessary.
Step 3: Start the Airset Generator
Click the Airset Generator icon in your Chrome toolbar. In the pop-up window, select Generate. The extension will automatically begin reading and collecting the comments currently displayed on the Instagram post.
Step 4: Complete the Collection
Once the extension finishes scanning the comments, click Continue in the pop-up window to finalize the scraping process. Your dataset (Airset) will be created and sent directly to your Kimola Dashboard.
Step 5: Access Your Airset
When the process is complete, your new Airset will appear under Latest Airsets in the Airset Generator window. Click its name to open and review your collected Instagram comments in your Kimola Dashboard.
- To further manage your dataset — such as viewing, downloading, or deleting — visit: Manage Airsets
- To browse all Airsets you’ve ever created, including older ones: List Airsets
- When you're ready to analyze your comments using AI models and interpretations: Create a Report with an Airset
By following these steps, you can efficiently capture Instagram comments and make them ready for further analysis and reporting inside Kimola.
