  • The Mayflower remains a crown jewel in Washington DC. The spacious suites immediately transport you to the times when FDR, Nixon, Bob Hope, or Sophia Loren stayed over to change the world. They strive to mantain the attention to service missing in the moment. Please bring a business jacket or dress to enjoy the history. Black tie is not necessary, but it sure looks better at the Mayflower.

  • Very unhealthy atmosphere, rooms are very old, 3 star service. Limited amenities. The lobby looks gorgeous, but rooms are filthy. The exhaust fan didn't work in 3 rooms we tried, which means if one person go to bathroom, other one cannot go for hours.The shower handle and head was not in sync, and they still don't have temperature control valve, so when someone flush the toilet, you get really hot or cold showers.The floor lobby carpet is ripped and shaggy. It feels suffocating the walk through it.Rooms: Decent size but not quite type of money is charged. It's basically, 3 star motel experience.

  • Generally, When going out for Easter, Mother's Day, Christmas, or New Years it is to have a special meal that could include an over-night stay. The hotel was great as expected and beautifully decorated. We had a peaceful sleep and enjoyed our room. I take full responsibility for not doing full research to ensure there would be a brunch buffet on Christmas Day. I just assumed it would be available. Not only was there no buffet, the breakfast was just ok. IHOP does better and IHOP is not a favorite, but at least you know what to expect when deciding to go there. This was an expensive mistake! The disappointment was not about the amount of food, but the quality. One last point.....I asked to have peach favor option added to my mimosa instead of orange juice. The waiter returned with an orange juice mimosa and stated "peach was 86 here is your mimosa". Should he not have told me that and let me make the decision to have the general OJ mimosa or choose something else. Back to the 4-Season, Willard, or Fairmount. Never again to the Mayflower!
