Bear - Markdown Notes is praised for its elegant design, seamless synchronization across devices, powerful writing tools, and clean interface. Users appreciate its organizational features, tagging system, backlink support, and Markdown compatibility. However, some reviewers mention the lack of a web app, Windows support, or sharing via web links as drawbacks. Despite recent bugs after updates, Bear remains a favorite for many due to its simplicity, feature-rich nature, and ease of use. The app stands out for its intuitive interface, tag system, and compatibility with various Apple devices.

Iâm just going to use Google Docs instead. Hate this app.
Using Bear make my life better and I appreciate the restraint in the design and features. Thank you.
Simply the Best! Thank you
it is beyond frustrating that my favorite note taking app that i keep coming back to doesnât support sharing via web link. nearly all other well known note taking apps do this. evernote, notion, noteplan, craft, etc. i had such high hopes that bear 2 would have had this feature but itâs not and now iâm wondering if itâs even worth subscribing again.
i have tried them all and still my favorite app to take notes is bear, all of the others are just too bloated with useless features. but the one feature they all have that i need and use is web link sharing. bonus if i can share a note with my husband so we can both edit it. i hate that i have to use apple notes for this, mostly because i donât want to have multiple apps for different notes due to lack of features.
hopefully the bear team is aware, a quick search on and itâs quite apparent that im not the only one wishing this was a feature.
UPDATE: I've had this app for a few years now and still use it DAILY. I've looked at a couple other notes apps at times, just out of curiosity when I see them, but none have come close. I haven't needed to use a single other notes-like app since downloading this one. It would require an entire essay to go over everything; all its features and all the different reasons this is the best notes app *ever*. Just a few: If you love organizing things, you'll enjoy their # tag system and its intricacies quite a bit, especially once you really get into it and see how far you can take it. The app also works really well with iOS/Mac OS. VERY often I find myself switching between them and Bear updates so seamlessly, I could easily switch and continue working on the same note in seconds. & You never need to manually sync them, too, just a few seconds of internet access! It also works really well with other features of Apple OS, like widgets (it has a TON of customization options with widgets) and more.
Anyway... TL;DR: This is the notes app for you, because it's the right app for EVERYONE. Believe me, download this, you won't regret it and you'll never look back. I 1000% recommend shelling out the $ for Bear Pro. It's actually VERY cheap annually, especially when you consider what you're getting for it. But also, tbh, I'm also really happy to do it to give back to the devs for their hard work! :)

ORIGINAL: I seriously LOVE this app here and on the Mac. I honestly can't think of anything else I'd even want in a Notes app. After just hours of using this, the basic Notes app feels obsolete and ancient. This app has everything, every feature you want while being so beautifully stylish. Trust me. Use this. You'll never look back. I even bought the year-long Pro sub, something I never do in apps.
Everything takes two clicks now, editing indent on a list is baffling. I like the second keyboard but please please bring the ribbon back. Very difficult to use, may switch away if it remains this clunky.
