Review of an Easy-to-Use Air Popper for Delicious and Healthy Popcorn

A lot of unpopped kernals fly out of the popper almost immediately after putting them in. This happens every time, and it is very frustrating!

Pops a large bowl with the recommended serving size. Very few unopened kernels remain in the hopper (second photo) after the run. Easy to clean. Popcorn turned out with no burnt kernels.

I'll start with the positives - the popcorn that popped was good. However, about 1/3 of the popcorn doesn't pop at all. I've tried it 4 or 5 times and every time, the popper either shoots the kernels out onto the floor, or the kernels just keep swirling around and never pop. I'm using a new container of Orville Redenbacher's popcorn, the problem isn't with the quality or the age of the popcorn. It's with the popper. I recently tried Cuisinart's air popper and had the same problem. From what I'm reading, all the new air poppers have this problem. So I decided to to a different route and try the West Bend Stir Crazy popper. What a difference! All kernels popped and it was very easy to clean. I'm keeping the West Bend and returning this Pop Lite.

The best tasting and healthiest popcorn is air popped. Need a bit more flavor use Ghee spray with butter tasting salt (low sodium). The 2 minutes to pop a couple of liters fly by and fills a 4 quart bowl. No cleaning required for the popper, shake out a few remaining kernels. Best popcorn I've found is Jolly Time Gourmet (white corn almost no hulls).

I plug it in and air gets hot very quick. No need to preheat. My last popper kept blowing kernels out of it before the popping started. Not having that problem with this one. Very happy.

So much better than the microwave popper I had. 99% or more of the popcorn pops. I like the butter melted too. It's simple to clean up, after using. Highly recommended!!
