Great book. Loved it! Want to read more like it. Please send more similar books. Especially of Florence Italy. Superb!
The Florence Letter by Anita Chapman was a a beautifully written book and written from the heart. It was just a wonderful read from start to finish especially as it is the first book I have read by this author and it will not be the last.
I highly recommend this book. It just took my breath away.
This was a wonderful book between writings of Claire & Margaret. Scary memories of WW II, Margaret at work having to sleep in cellars because of the Nazis bombing England at night. Also, a story about a noble lady getting pregnant by her lover, a man who Margaret loved. Claire is the woman who brought history together at Gary House where the story began. Couldn't put this book down!
This was a beautifully written dual timeline, dual POV story set from the 1940s until the present day.
I loved both Claire and Margarets stories, which were interwoven across the years and came together beautifully at the end. Gatley Hall and the colourful streets of Florence provided some deliciously well described locations that transported me there in my imagination.
The storyline itself was full of scandal and mystery that kept me captivated.
I loved this book ... thank you Anita Chapman. This has a dual timeline - we are witnessing Mags life during the war while Claire is investigating her life and the scandals which happened during this time. We are witness to Mags life and the changes that she had to go through and the sacrifices that she had to make for family and love. We then follow Claire investigating the history and putting this together for a exhibition. All I can tell you is that you need to read this beautiful story.
The Florence Letter by Anita Chapman.
This was a good read. I loved the cover and blurb. I did like Claire and Jim. When he was there to use her shower was funny. I liked Margaret. I liked the writing style. I did like the ending. 4*.
