Ring Alarm Pro 8-Piece Kit: Mixed Reviews on Connectivity & Reliability

The ring pro becomes your internet router. This pretty much destroyed my home internet signal to the point where it is barely usable. I bought additional eero internet extenders to fix it to no avail. Save your money and don’t buy this system. When I contacted ring for a refund they said no since I had spent more than 30 days trying to make it work. What a ripoff. $450 down the drain.

I'm switching back to Cove Smart ASAP. Keypad would not turn off even though the alarm base said disarm. Then all sensors started going offline. I guess they want you to buy allow these extra battery packs for 100 each to keep it working. Everyone that gave it good reviews has extra packs.

Needing to have 2 apps to navigate set up of this system --Eero and Ring and additionally the Internet provider had become a headache. The technical support teams of each of the 3 companies have passed the buck on the installation and correcting technical issues to have the system run. As of now no component can work with Ring as a router which significantly minimizes the features that are claimed. Unless you have a great amount t of free time to wait on hold with tech support or don't care about all the safety features promised by this system you will be disappointed. Further review when the end result is available.

About a year after purchasing this, it has started to drop my internet connection multiple times each day. The connection restores after 5-15 minutes - but any Teams calls, videos, etc, are lost. After trying to resolve it for months, I've given up. From online forums it appears this is a chronic issue.

Other than that, it is a good security system and router. But dropped connections make it a non-starter for me.

As a gun smith, an alarm system is mandated by the ATF and the State Police. This worked great nsors would disconnects then installed. Monitoring went well. After a few months sensors would disconnect. It changed it's own settings regarding the wifi settings and my cellular cattier. I use Verizon but now Ring says I use ATT. It turned of the call alert. I turned it on and later it turned it off. Extremely disappointed. Sadly it is now ready for the trash can as I can no longer rely on it.

UPDATE: It seems that Ring monitors their reviews. I spent some time on the phone with tech support and she was great. Handled all of the problems remotely, answered all of my questions and now the system works as it should. there is no numbers to call on their web site so I did some digging. Worth it.

App interface is good. Adding devices easy.

I liked the system until I wanted to change the name of the WiFi the unit was broadcasting.
I did not figure out how to do that, so I factory reset the device, and removed the… removable battery.

No warning tape, etc. A simple screw to remove the battery.

Based upon some googling, and speaking with customer service (fast response time, helpful) removing the REMOVABLE battery bricks the unit…

Forunately the unit was only 13 weeks since purchase and was replaced at no cost.

That said, the battery is replaceable. You can by replacement batteries on Amazon. There is no indication on the battery cover plate or the battery itself, or a message underneath the battery saying, “you’re screwed”.

Setting aside the design features creating this issue, to not include a message, red tape, etc. on the battery plate is short sited. How many units have been replaced due to this issue?
