A truly fantastic lodge. Suites are beautifully decorated in natural materials that ensure absolute comfort and luxury but in a stylish and elegant way that blend with the surroundings. Loved the plunge pool with views over the plain to Kilimanjaro, the delicious food, fantastic staff and little touches that make a stay so memorable. I could not recommend this place more highly.

The facility is substandard as compared to the other places we stayed in Africa. There was little or no shower hot water or shower water pressure for the duration of our stay. The rooms were damp and musty with numerous live and dead bugs and geckos residing in the bathroom. The roof leaked in most of our rooms (we had six) during a heavy rain. The light was poor in the rooms and there was little storage for clothing or personal items. The doors have no locks. However, the staff was great and the food was very good.

I cannot fault this lodge. The staff make the experience and the service is second to none. The lodge itself is stunning, the location in breathtaking and the rooms are beautiful. The food was on another level, every meal was delicious and they catered for any dietary requirements with no issues at all. Just go here, you absolutely will not regret it, I can't say enough good things about it!

Accommodations marginal to poor. Roof leaked. No hot water and minimal water pressure. Shower drain rusty.Geckos living in bathroom. Bugs everywhere.No storage for clothes. Living room open air which attracted bugs with fireplace burning…which also let smoke in the room. We soo wanted to leave. Staff and food okay but couldn’t compensate for marginal accommodations.

The lodge is absolute safari luxury and a perfect place to unwind after activities on the plains. Whether you're staying here the whole time or it's just a stop on your trip around Kenya, you won't be sorry. We went horseback riding, game drives during the day & night and mountain biking. We saw a pride of lions, elephants, zebras, gazelle, cheetah's and more. The food is delicious and they accommodated my gluten allergy perfectly with all gluten free meals that were delicious!

While every aspect of the ol Donyo experience is first class, this property is differentiated by its emphasis on activities such as horseback riding and its commitment to wellness and a highest quality personal spa experience. As great as the lodge and the experience, it's the people who set it apart.
