Five stars all the way around! The architecture of the building is stunning! The rooms are clean modern, and aesthetically appealing. I got a great night's sleep both nights, and the hotel is within walking distance of lots of great places to eat shop or sightsee. However I have to admit that the best part of the stay was the staff. Everyone was so helpful I am a country boy and I know absolutely nothing about the city, the front desk people the security team and every other person of staff that I talk to was not only polite and courteous but often very helpful. This is obviously a very well ran organization and I plan on staying there every time I come to the city.
Spent a week at the KG in early Feb. The location is really central and close to the Blue Line if you're coming from O'Hare. Staff are welcoming and really helpful. The rooms are very spacious, clean and quiet. Chicago can be a 'noisy' city so a respite from the sirens is a nice change in a downtown hotel. The standout for me though was the post stay service. I left my earbuds in the room and when I went back to the hotel to check lost property 4 or 5 days later not only did they out of their way to help me they had been bagged up and set aside by housekeeping ready for me to collect. Outstanding. I'm grateful to the front of house and housekeeping team for such great guest relations.Rooms: Spacious, clean and quiet.Safety: Very safe and welcomingWalkability: Well located, everything you need is an easy walk including the Blue Line train to O'Hare.
My best friend and I decided come here for our annual girls getaway. We were in Chicago for the Madonna concert. We had a fabulous time. We were greeted warmly by all staff and when requests were made they were promptly taken care. The on site restaurants of Bolera and Fillmore were great. Again food was beautiful prepared and tasted delicious! We were graciously upgraded to a corner room which was nice and open. As a boutique hotel, it had a character that was charming and old Chicago style.Would definitely come back to this location in the future.Rooms: Clean, spacious and comfortable bedsNearby activities: Walking distance to the park and short Uber drive to the main tourist attractions.Walkability: Easy walk to the park.Food & drinks: Food and drink were unique and service was great. Enjoyed the Latin American food themed restaurant at Bolero.
Very poor experience. I stayed with them as part of a business trip on 9th Jan and had a booking prepaid from work. The arrival was at 10pm where there was a receptionist who could not find the prepaid booking and insisted on having me pay for it again. Which I did. I then checked with the work travel desk and provided proof for the prepayment which the receptionist then realised was a mistake. So far so good. He acknowledged it but could not reverse it since he did not have authorisation (apparently all he could do his charge but could not refund which was very odd to me). The next morning I went back in to discuss this with the manager who looked into it and indicated that I will not be charged. 2 days later my Amex bill has a charge for one night stay in addition to the prepaid booking. I wait for another few days thinking maybe a reversal is in order. It has been 3 weeks and nothing since. I have had e-mails into the hotel and no response. Is this what you call 4 star billing and service?
Great place đRooms: Nice and Romantic placeNearby activities: Great green tea shopsFood & drinks: Great food nearby
