Mixed Feedback on Simply Guitar App: Fun Learning but Subscription Concerns

Yes, there are bugs and sometimes the app doesn’t get it when you’re playing the right note. But overall, this is a great app. I just hit my 10 week streak and I’ve learned a lot. Chords, riffs to some of my favorite songs, and it’s fun. at first playing guitars is very painful but once you build up those calluses and start to learn your way about the fret board, it becomes fun.

The way the app set up is almost like a video game and gives you a feeling. It makes it fun!

In fact, I’m learning so fast that I’m thinking about picking up the bass. I was very disappointed when I went to download the “Simply Bass” and learned that it didn’t exist. What the heck! You guys need to get on that. my rock ‘n’ roll career needs you.

I paid for a yearly subscription, $119.00. After playing for a couple months they now want me to pay $20.00 a month again. Can anyone please suggest a good guitar learning app?

Didn’t say you only get a couple of actually free lessons, then hit a subscribe or get lost paywall. 👎🏻

I just logged in and try to do the first course and the screen is just black with a button that says resume and one that says skip. When you press resume nothing happens and you can only skip two and can’t get to the end and I can’t do a different lesson because you have to complete the first one before you can!!

This app is good and it helped me learn like 2 chords which is good. I don’t understand this though like why do I have to pay to play a song if the soul purpose of this is to learn how to play. I was excited to finally be able to play and now I’m learning that I have to pay to play which doesn’t really help me learn anything and idk what i’m gonna do with 2 chords cause that is not gonna get me anywhere without paying.

I inherited my father’s collection of electric guitars and an amp. I was extremely excited about this application.
