  • Long account setup, mobile app has bugs

    Setting up an account took more than one day - provided all of the correct docs and I met *all* of the requirements. This could not be sorted out by the help desk until the following day but, by then, the car that I wanted was no longer available so I ended up paying a higher rental charge and spending more time travelling to the car. App has bugs, including loss of messages on selecting 'send (repeated obscure error codes), reported inability to upload images (but loaded anyway), etc. Help desk messaging is not combined with vehicle owner messaging - very confusing. On the positive side, the help desk was supportive when they were available during working hours and the business model is a good one - but execution still needs work.

  • Easy to collect and drop off the car

    Easy to collect and drop off the car, and the app is good at tracking condition of the car. The only downside was when driving off there was a delay in locking the car which held me up for longer than I planned. I imagine it's a bug that can be fixed over time.

    hiyacar is convenient and very good value. Customer service is great and feels more like a voluntary organisation doing good than a for-profit business in terms of the relationship management.

  • Charged for something I didn't do

    I returned the car, 70% full, on Sunday 4th Feb. I locked it and checked it out, as per usual instructions. Then on 6th February, at nearly midnight, I got a message saying that I hadn't turned the car off when I used it on 6th Feb. I was then charged £70 for fix this problem. But I didn't use the car on 6th Feb!

  • I had the worst experience using this…

    I had the worst experience using this app I couldn't rent the car for more than 2 hours at some point the engine wouldn't start I had to contact the customer service, to start the rental is just to much hussle you waste at least 10 to 15 min before getting in the car, honestly I wouldn't recommend this app.

    I just completed my first booking as a host, all guidance was given in the app for driver and the host. Smooth and easy process. Will definitely recommend for other users.
