This book covers everything from getting your soil ready, planting and then enjoying all those gorgeous blooms. Very organized by type of flower and she shares all of her extra growing tips that come from experience. I highly recommend this book. It would make a great gift for any gardener, novice or skilled.

More of an opportunity for the author to brag about her garden than a helpful resource. Don’t buy if you’re a beginner or have a yard smaller than an acre.

I've bought this book now for my mom's birthday, friends who just bought a new home and even my sister who loves flowers but doesn't plan to actually grow them. All three thought the book was such a great and thoughtful gift! It's both educational and something to dream about doing one day. Has also been a great coffee table piece for our visitors to enjoy as well.

I’m a home gardener who has a lot of experience growing vegetables and found Niki’s information has taken my gardening to the next level. From the soil preparation to harvest Niki then illustrates how to’s on making bouquets and arrangements. My flowers will no longer be just posies in a pot on my table but a way to showcase the beautiful blooms. I love the gorgeous photos and keep this book on my coffee table. I bought Growing Flowers for my friends because I know they would love it like I do and I was right!

This book is so good. I hesitated to buy it because I already have several great books on growing flowers but I'm so glad I got it. I wish I had read it before any of the others. It is informative and inspiring without being overwhelming. A must have for new growers!

This is a beautiful book. But if you have grown flowers for more than one season, or have read some other books on flower growing, it is probably not for you. It skims the surface of a lot of topics, but doesn't delve deep into many. As an example, there is a description on how to dig/store dahlia tubers. But not one mention of how to split/propagate them for success which kind of goes hand in hand. A friend told me she was sorry she purchased it because it was too basic. When I checked it out of the library:, I thoroughly concurred. Great for absolute newbies, a pass for experienced growers.
