When doing the lessons and having only one answer below, it gives the answer away. Additionally, trying to figure out what the lesson entails is difficult at times without an explanation. Lastly, the student should be able to go back to beginning lessons and review and this is very difficult to do. Iâve been studying vocabulary on my own with much better success than what Iâve gained from Babbel. As a result I have been avoiding Babbel.
Auto renews without warning, only tells you when youâre charged. And if you try to cancel the day you find out, they wonât let you until the next cycle.
Thatâs the behavior of an app that doesnât believe in its offering. Bad form.
this is perfect for those who sre just starting out, but once you get like half way through youâre gonna wanna start supplementing other sources like podcasts and books to continue learning
Great app, I used it to keep up on my French for quite awhile and also to start learning German. Things are very intuitive and laid out well. It made it very easy to learn writing/reading/speaking which is a hard combo to find.
I didnât renew my subscription the last time though because they only support 14 languages (mostly western) and I was getting into learning Korean which they donât have.
Iâll keep an eye on things though and will definitely be returning if they ever add support for more east-asian languages ^.^.
Per the fine print in the âterms and conditionsâ, your access auto-renews and if you are done dealing with this not very effective app, youâd better cancel this auto-renewal before your subscription expires because otherwise they will charge you for the renewal and run with your money.
Price is ok but hard to maintain consistent practice for reasons below.
Gives you more sentences in the beginning and moves faster than Duolingo but makes you spell the new words out!! At the first part of the lesson there are no tips for spelling which is HARD when youâre trying to learn French.
Also introduces a lot of extra words to make sentences so prior knowledge is helpful to figure out the context.
And the microphone is reeeaaalllyyy picky. Overall, more advanced than Duolingo but hardly close to user friendly for a quick lesson.
