My friend of thirty +- years just retired. I bought this book to motivate her to "get started" enjoying our sixties. This book is GREAT! Informative, interesting, and fun to skim through when the "travel bug" hits.
I was given this book by my sister because I love to travel! It is full of adventures! Places I never thought of visiting!
Book is in good shape but the binding was severely torn.
I just wish it was in some type of order. By location and not just a random list. However I am excited to get through more of it and mark off some of these places on my own bucket list.
I bought this book as a retirement present for my Dad and he was so pleased! He thought it was a really thought gift. I liked it so much I may have to buy a copy for myself as coffee table book.
I read over the book at a B&B we were staying at.
the book is simply a waste of a good idea. there are some interesting ideas regarding europe, but the coverage of places we are very familiar with , such as the pacific NW, were woefully superficial.
for example, no mention of crater lake or the spectacular coast or various glacier covered volcanoes in central high desert or old growth forests etc but "geocaching in beaver creek"? that is like suggesting going to the mall as a bucket list item. nothing wrong with going to the mall and do some shopping, it just isn't a bucket list item and skips over some spectacular bucket list worthy things to see and do!!
like I said, I doubt the author has even been to the US since coverage of europe has much more depth
