Trupanion has a great and easy sign up process. They explain everything clearly and I feel confident that my dog Douglas will be taken care of in the evident of an injury or illness. This was an easy decision to make to enroll with this company for their transparency and amazing customer service. Having peace of mind lets me focus my energy and enjoy every minute with my furbaby!

Avoid Trupanion and similar insurance providers. Instead, consider saving the monthly premiums in a high-interest savings account. We regret not doing this ourselves, as we've spent over $15,000 on Trupanion for our three pets, only to find that they didn't cover a recent $3000 procedure due to coinsurance and deductible minimums.My 11-year-old wheaten had several masses removed, each assumed to be a cyst. Despite being part of one procedure, Trupanion treated them as separate issues under their deductible, each with its own coinsurance and deductible prorated across the procedure. Consequently, I was left to cover the entire cost, even though each item was under the deductible threshold. By Trupanion's logic, I should have had 5 separate anesthetic procedures with their own cost structure.If we had saved the amount spent on their policy over time, we would instead have approximately $15,000 in cash in a savings account ($100/mo over 10 years). Pet insurance is a scam built connivingly on the back of your genuine concern for your pet and your own financial risks.

Great customer service and very helpful in explaining plans and coverage.

We took our pet who is 13 months old to the vet for what appeared to be kennel cough, which was confirmed. The following day after having to wait 12 hours to get him into the emergency pet hospital, they confirmed he had pneumonia. 3 days later we got a letter stating Trupanion would be raising our rates. Ironically we just met our deductible. I do not recommend Trupanion. 1 claim and the rates go up.
