Mixed Opinions on Ina May's Guide to Childbirth: Empowering or Fear-Inducing?

Ina May's Guide to Childbirth presents a divisive array of opinions, with some praising its empowerment and natural birth advocacy, while others critique its biased stance against medical interventions. The book is commended for its support of physiological childbirth and empowerment of women through positive birth stories. However, it receives backlash for promoting fear of hospital births and modern medical practices. • Misprint-unreadable. DONT BUY ON AMAZON

This has nothing to do with the author or the content of the book. A TON of pages (maybe 1/5?) were cut off in the printing process making the book unreadable. Like 1/3 of the affected pages just didn't print. Buy somewhere else, NOT Amazon.

What a powerful compilation of the strength of women. This is a wonderful read for anyone looking for a different way to give birth than that which the medical world accepts.

  • Misleading and Biased

If you plan to have a natural birth in a hospital setting, I would refrain from this book. There is a clear bias that births in hospitals will lead to horrible problems thus envoking fear. Not what pregnant women need. Might be a better fit if you are planning to have a home birth.
