Lovely quirky pub. Open fire, friendly staff.
Had the slow roast pork absolutely delicious. Will visit again. Parts of the building are from the 13th century.

This is a must visit. The pub itself on the ground floor is stunning. Friendly patient staff. Well maintained and the selection of drinks excellent from ales to lagers, cider and wine as well as a good range of spirits and soft drinks.

The menu both the adults menu and kids is a good range of food. We had the venison stew which was meltingly good as was the pork belly. I don’t know what the gravy was but I was mopping that up with everything. I even ate the veg which was cooked to perfection. I normally treat as a decoration with some meals. But the veg was part of the meal. The triple venison looked amazing. I’d like to have tried it but it was inhaled before I got the chance as was the venison burger. Food was good but TINY PORTIONS !
Staff weren't very efficient and the waiter looked like he'd just attended a funeral . I asked for more vegetables and got a straight no . Basically £18 for pork belly on half a potato, some tiny onions...and 3 slices of beetroot and slither of carrot . I have been there with friends and I had a great experience. The food was really tasty! I had the pork belly, the best pork belly that I ever had 😋 The stuff was very friendly and the service spot on! Atmospheric, excellent food and service. We loved the duck pate, goats cheese salad, venison burger and the trio of venison. Such an interesting beautiful old building.
