The FlipBelt lightweight running belt is ideal for carrying small items while running or hiking. It is lightweight, breathable, and has a secure zip closure. The pockets keep items secure with elastic and gravity alone, and the uniform fit around the waist reduces movement and friction. The sizing guide seems accurate, and the belt is easy to clean. The only drawback is the price. It comes with a zipper, so there is no need to step into it. The breathable mesh is great, and the top-loading pockets feel more secure.

Like with any waist-mounted storage, overloading this will cause it to bounce and increase the risk of chafing. The same is true if you put any liquids into this belt where the container has not been emptied of any excess air - that will cause bouncing, become uncomfortable over time, and increase the risk of chafing.
BUT, if you're looking to store some gels, a bar or two, a pair of gloves and a hat, trekking poles (carefully), or mount a Kogalla Ra, this will do the job. I use this in ultramarathons to mount my Kogalla and store a couple of small food items and clothing items (nothing too heavy). I haven't had any issues with chafing or excessive bouncing, but I pay very close attention to how much I'm putting in. If you do the same, this could be a good option for carrying items hands free without the need for a vest or overloading your pockets of your shorts.
This is a good lightweight running belt. I like that it has the zipper on the side for putting it on more easily. We had a previous iteration that youâd have to step through to put on. I canât say itâs significantly cooler than the non-mesh versions, but it would be hard to tell for me anyway considering how I wear it.
It seemed pretty tight, although I can't see where/if I indicated a size on the order.
Flip Belt continues to be my go to for the running belt. I've used their "standard" belts for about 3 years now, and this was my first foray into their lightweight line.
Essentially, its all of the same flipbelt stuff you know and love, but the band is now made of a mesh material to make it lightweight and breathable. Its got a single zippered pocket for your keys, but unlike the standard Flipbelt where there are pockets 'inside' the band to keep your gels and other stuff, the pockets here are all top loading and surround the band.
The band also differs in that it has a zipper. I suppose this is for ease of wearing because the mesh material is slightly less stretchy than the standard flipbelt; it's the only thing about the lightweight I don't LOVE, but I understand why they added it and it doesn't take anything away from the belt.
Overall, another great addition to the line. Highly recommended.
As a regular long distance runner, I'll typically carry various convenience items with me. Phone, perhaps a music player, powdered electrolytes, Band-Aids, etc. It's tough to find good running belts that are up to the task, but this is hands-down the best I've used so far.
Pros:
- Light weight and breathable
- The zip closure is secure, not annoying while running, more convenient than the typical snap closures, etc.
- The format of the pockets keeps items secure with elastic and gravity alone
- The uniform fit around the waist is ideal for reducing movement and friction
- Easy to clean (I hand wash it in less than a minute)
Cons:
- Price (it's worth it)
The sizing guide seems accurate: I'd suggest picking the size that matches your average pants size. Wearing it so that it rests on my running shorts works well to reduce friction against the skin, but I can't imagine any different if you were to choose to wear it on the skin above the waist. Very well designed, and I can confirm that it works superbly on 10+ mile runs as a person who notices any discomfort caused by worn items.
This is a rare Amazon purchase that I expect to make again, either to acquire a spare or try another product out from the FlipBelt company. Highly recommended!
This flip belt feels like a big upgrade from my older model. The breathable mesh is great and the top-loading pockets feel a lot more secure.
This is my second FlipBelt and this new version is now my favorite. The other one I own does not have a zipper, so you have to step into it. I knew that when I ordered it, and while itâs not really a big deal, there have been times when Iâve wished I had ordered the belt with the zipper. Now, the possible drawback to the zipper is that zippers have a tendency to go wonky over time, and if that happens the belt would become useless. Hopefully this zipper will stand the test of time.
Secondly, this thing is incredibly lightweight, yet still substantial enough to actually hold my phone and keys without fear that it will tear. If fits snuggly enough so that it doesnât feel like itâs bouncing around when Iâm running âi f you can call what I do ârunning.â Itâs more like bouncy walking â but itâs not so tight that itâs uncomfortable. It has a nice amount of stretch to it, but still holds its shape and does not loosen when exercising.
The top of the belt has openings in it that allow you to easily slip your phone or other device into and out of the pockets. There are five separate pockets as well as one small zipper-accessed compartment My previous belt is like a single tube that has various openings in it that you slide your phone or keys into. But since the belt was one single tube, my phone would sometimes move around inside the belt. Five separate compartments is definitely a nice upgrade that prevents that item shifting.
Additionally, the old style belt had the openings for inserting your items running along the center of the belt, where it touches your body. While this did make the items inside the belt feel secure, sometimes Iâd be running and trying to get my phone out, but I couldnât easily locate the proper opening to access my phone. Or my phone would shift so Iâd have to kind of shimmy it to an opening so that I could remove it. This belt has the slots along the top of the belt, making access to my phone incredibly simple.
Overall, I love my new FlipBelt. It is a bit pricey, but it definitely does a good job of holding my items securely.
Buenas.
Muchas gracias!
Iâve used other products from flipbelt and thought this belt was good. It secured my iPhone 12 and my key chain (house key, car fob, AirTag) during my one hour of running. The material was light which made me forget that I had it on when I had no items in the pocket. The only thing that I would change is the pocket opening is at the top versus in the middle like some of the other flip belts. When taking out my phone and then attempting to put it back into the flipbelt, I almost dropped the phone because I had mistaken the space between the belt and my shorts as the opening. No complaints other than that.
If you have the original flip belt, size up.
