I've been a ZOE member for well over about 18 months.I've have learnt alot about the best way for me to manage my irreversible pre-diabetes (I've always had a "healthy range" BMI and GP advised me not to lose weight), as well as my lifestyle.I can't remember the last time I even had a cold or other virus! I used to get 2 a year at least.My microbiome is now "excellent":)The personalised scores for foods when doing a supermarket shop or eating on the go are a real help too.I love the recipes too.

I really appreciated speaking to a real person who I felt was genuinely giving me feedback based on her own experiences. So much better than speaking to a faceless robot!

Don’t believe the ‘if you’re not happy you can have your money back’ promise. It is only valid in the first 14 days, when you have no results back and cannot yet use the app to get personal information. By the time you see how the app works, and get a chance to use it, it is too late to cancel. It’s an empty promise. The app is glitchy and logging food is much less user-friendly than other apps like MFP. Getting advice from coaches was the main reason I opted for the Zoe plan but they don’t reply within 24 hours and you can’t have a conversation with them - it would take weeks! Before you consider signing up, think about how you want to manage eating from now on; do you want to be reliant on an app to give you a score for the meal you chose? It’s such a complex algorithm that you will not be able to make those choices alone. And its £40 a month for, effectively, a food logging app. You cannot do the testing without the membership, by the way. Even though they are charged for entirely separately.Such a disappointment. I ignored all the people talking online about how it doesn’t work and the conpany knows there’s issues with the app and does little to solve it; if I’d listened I’d have saved myself ££s.

Joining Zoe has been a revelation. I thought I was eating well and healthily but I was wrong. I joined out of desperation because my weight has been piling on and impacting my health. Nothing I did made a difference up until now. The cost is hard to justify and delayed my decision but it has been worth it so far. The app isn’t problem free but gets resolved quickly and efficiently. I find the positivity on the app a little relentless and having to log meals a bit tiresome sometimes. But it’s worth the effort so far. Be warned the cookies are disgusting! I have found some foods and recipes inedible but everyone is different and others might like them. Some ingredients are hard to find in the real world and could prove to be expensive in the long term. I have been very surprised at some food suggestions as they seem very far removed from what is readily available in supermarkets even from what is considered a healthy diet. I was already used to that to a certain point having been a vegetarian for decades and avoiding ultra processed food as best I can. I like the individual approach and learning what works for my physiology specifically has been excellent. Also surprising. No wonder I wasn’t losing weight. In less than a month my waist has reduced by 5 cms. I feel healthier already and quite hopeful that things will continue to improve. I think Zoe teaches good lessons in learning about your own body and how to feed it well.
