  • Loved creating my own healthier boba drinks

Love boba, but I usually avoid it because of all the sugar. So I was thrilled when one of the owners shared a pack at a women’s food meetup. Boba is a great way to shadow your creativity and they work with so many different drinks including tea, coffee or juices. It’s easy to use, but be sure to add a little liquid when you heat the pearls in the microwave. My last creation was the best: breakfast matcha green tea boba with Mizuba Matcha, some unflavored collagen protein powder, liquid stevia and Whatif Foods BAMnut Milk to make it a bit more healthy. I loved the subtle brown sugar taste along with the matcha and so did my 13-and 16-year-old nieces, who are very picky boba connoisseurs.

  • Good product for an instant boba

I have now purchased this boba twice. It has a brown sugar flavor that I struggle to replicate at home and absolutely love. I’ve never had a package taste sour or like it’s gone bad. The product has been consistent through every package I have used. It is tricky to get the timing right so that it doesn’t over cook. Once you do though it’s fantastic. I have tried both methods suggested on the box and found the microwave method worked better for me. I generally boil some water for tea and use the little bit of left over water for my boba. I separate the boba while it’s in the package, squeeze it into a cup, add just enough hot water to cover it, and microwave for 40 seconds. With my microwave that cooks the boba perfectly without it getting mushy. It’s soft enough but still has its chewy texture. After that I just dump it in my tea and add some milk. I prefer my tea and boba hot when I make it at home so I don’t cool the boba at all. The only negative thing I have to say about this product is that it is quite expensive for me. I find it difficult to justify spending so much on this when I can buy three 8.8 ounce bags of tapioca pearls from another company for less than a box of these cost. If you are ok with the price then I would say they are worth trying. Just play around with the cooking times and don’t forget that you can always add time but once it’s over cooked there’s no fixing it.

  • Too bad I can't return it...

I don't know a ton about boba but I know this is NOT good! It tastes rotten/sour and the texture is terrible. Don't waste your time/money. What a disappointment. There has to be a way to make better boba at home that doesn't involve intensive effort! Maybe I'm delusional.

  • Delicious and easy

This tastes exactly like the boba at any boba shop I’ve been to — and it’s so easy to make! I add the tapioca to a small bowl with some water and a little extra coconut or brown sugar, then pop it in the microwave for 30-35 seconds. Done! It’s almost too good and too easy, honestly — I’ve already reordered once!

The key is to fully submerge the boba in water, and be sure to cook it long enough. (If your boba comes out hard, it means it needs to cook longer.)
