Hotel Hive is a small but charming boutique hotel with a great location in the Foggy Bottom area of Washington DC, perfect for exploring the National Mall and other sites on foot. The staff are friendly and helpful, with many reviews complimenting the service provided by Q and ChantĂĄ. Although the rooms are small, they are well-equipped and comfortable, and the rooftop bar offers fantastic views and delicious pizza.

The rooms may be micro but the service is MEGA! First time staying in the Hive but it definitely wonât be my last. The rooms are small but well equipped and comfortable. The location is ideal for exploring DC on foot. We did 20 miles of walking in two and a half days and loved every minute! A huge thank you to Q for checking us in and making us feel welcome!
This was my fifth stay at the Hotel Hive while accompanying different groups of university students visiting DC for a rigorous schedule of foreign policy & national security briefings. While The Hive provides a beautiful (and very fun!) experience for visitors of all ages, students are among the hotel's biggest fans. The pizza is awesome, the location is great, and the staff could not be nicer or more efficient. In particular, I'd like to commend Q (the best!), Earl, and Alexis, and the staff who get the coffee ready by 6:00 AM!
My husband and I love DC . During this stay it was our third time visiting and first time staying at the The Hive & it definitely wonât be the last ! The hive is such a charming boutique hotel . Super clean & the staff couldnât be more perfect ! Q, ChantĂĄ, & Brooke were so lovely ! Canât wait to come back !
Fantastic hotel where we could walk a short walk to the Lincoln Memorial and many other sites. Surprisingly easy to get to. Parking is off site, but just a block away. Very clean. The staff was Great!
We had a very nice stay at Hotel Hive. Well located in a quiet neighbordhood and also close to the Lincoln Memorial. The rooftop terasse provides Ă nice place to relax after a day walking around town. The staff is wonderful, especially ChantĂ who was very helpful with great restaurant suggestions.
The staff were very helpful and accommodating.. The location was perfect for moving our daughter out of college. The room was clean and modern. The pizza was delicious as well. We enjoyed our stay and will return.
We had a wonderful stay at this unique, hidden treasure in the Foggy Bottom area of Washington, DC. The service was outstanding, and the front desk staff provided great recommendations for dining out and even saved us with the loaner of an iPhone charger since we forgot ours. Our queen room was immaculate with high quality furnishings and linens, and we appreciated the key card entry to the hallways and other sections of the hotel not for public use. The lobby bar has a more expansive drink menu than the rooftop bar, but the views from the top cannot be beat. We will return!
This is a great hotel located in a great neighborhood. The staff was Awesome. Friendly and helpful. The hotel is within a quick walk to the National Mall. There are plenty of dinning options nearby.
Fictional, clean and minimal designed room. All you need for a good rest. In such a great centralised location! Love the student vibe in the area. But not just that the staff were super helpful, supportive and attentive. I stayed at the Four Seasons on my trip in GeorgeTown and I must say I have had the best customer journey and experience at the Hive Hotel as soon as I came through the doorl! ChantĂĄ and âQâ a HUGE SHOUT OUT to you ladies for such a welcoming experience. Iâm sure I will see you next year in my next business trip. Thanks For Everything Hiveđ
Super tiny but comfy and clean. Loved the staff. Friendly and helpful. They actually responded to us via text after we checked out! The rooftop bar is actually a scene. Parking down the street was kind of a pain.
We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Hive for the GWU graduation. With the hotel being immediately adjacent to campus, this was an extremely busy week for them, but as guests, we could barely tell. The guest services personnel (we met Chloe, Q, James, Ian, and Brooke) handled the high volume of check-ins/check-outs/requests/everything with incredible ease and efficiency. We never waited in line at the front desk for more than a couple of minutes (which we expected to do on such a busy weekend). We were also very well taken care of by Alexis and Kay in the lobby bar, and by Jared and Luis on the rooftop bar. Everyone who works there clearly takes pride in their work as hospitality professionals and it made for a very enjoyable experience for us. The icing on the cake was that they decorated the hotel's door beautifully with balloons in the school colors and put graduation-themed gift bags in each room. They were celebrating graduation with us all! It was beautiful. The rooms were great, too. Small, but comfortable. It's a great place to rest your head after spending your days exploring D.C. To sum up, this hotel is fantastic. Can't recommend it enough.âŚ
A hotel/ bar that cares about the community as well as customers, with everything you need and nothing you donât. I came to DC to participate in a dance for Parkinsonâs training program. Ian did not hesitate to help make my stay affordable and comfortable. Down pillows, premium soft sheets, every corner clean, attention to design and detailâIâve never stayed anywhere like Hotel Hive. Good food and drinks at surprisingly affordable prices. Every person I encountered at the front desk was kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. You can tell when someone enjoys the work they do. To Ian, Q, Chantâa, Brooke, Chloe, Kijha, and Louisâthank you so much for making my stay amazing. I would highly recommend Hotel Hive to anyone visiting DC.
Our room was quite large (King bed) for a micro-hotel. We also requested quiet. Breakfast was a disappointment. Simple order (bagel and butter) but she toasted the wrong bagel and did not bring butter or knives with the order. It's in the middle of George Washington University so not a lot of breakfast options nearby. And don't stay here during graduation - they charge an arm and a leg for that week.
I stayed at the Hotel Hive most recently for my daughter's graduation from GW, but the Hive has been my go-to hotel the whole four years, since the fall of 2019 (except for during COVID when I wasn't traveling at all). And has been great every time. The rooms are smallâas expected given it's a micro hotelâbut so well-designed that I don't miss the extra space. The rooms are both cheerful and minimalist, and they are also very clean but do not smell of cleaning products. This I really appreciate because I have asthma and am allergic to dust and mold and dander but also get triggered by chemical smells. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is excellent (in general, but especially for a GW parent!) and I love the roof bar and the little deck with tables off the lobby. The one con, for me, is no coffee makers in the rooms, but they do have free coffee downstairs from 6am-8am...and easy enough to pack an electric kettle and some instant. I love the Tivoli bluetooth radios in the rooms, so much that I actually bought myself one a couple of years ago! I am really going to miss staying here...always so happy and cozy. Highly recommend!!!âŚ
The bed is clean, the sheets are crisp and nicely pulled and tucked, and the bathroom impeccable. The only reason I take one star away is because the room was just above the main entrance and directly on the stairwell which becomes noisy as people leave the rooftop bar. I found the room to be a bit small and would have preferred to have had a little more walking room. The guest services are top-notch! I haven't felt that welcome since staying at a boutique hotel. I won't forget how Chanta and the rest of the staff are very accommodating and helpful.
Awesome little hotel right in the middle of everything! Walking distance to the Capitol and mall. Loved the ambiance and eclectic design. View from the rooftop bar was amazing! Want to especially thank Aquinta who was the best! From check in until the day I left she provided the best service. Her friendliness and amazing attitude was a joy. Definitely will recommend and stay here again. Caveat the rooms are small (by design) but clean and comfortable. I recommend.
My experience at the Hive could not have been better . . . clean, centrally located and staffed with thoughtful people. Shante was so attentive and addressed an issue outside in the street with professionalism and speed; and Q was so helpful coordinating keys for my husband and helping me read small print that my old eyes could not begin to decipher. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We'll definitely be back!!
Overall a great experience. Second time we stayed here. Great location. Only areas for improvement are the bar and restaurant staff on Saturday morning may 13. Sullen, arrogant and definitely not hive worthy.
Fantastic hotel - we loved the buzzy vibe, king loft room was indulgent. Concierge where brilliant especially Q who made our stay incredible so thank you Q. Roof top bar and pizza were a great hit too.
I have been staying at Hotel Hive for years now. It became a haven during the pandemic for quick weekend getaways. Additionally, I've stayed here for more extended stays for business and leisure in DC including board exams, birthdays, graduation celebrations as well as reprieves from the stresses of life. It's always clean, the rooftop bar is lovely, and the staff goes above and beyond. It is a micro-hotel, so the rooms are small but clean, well planned, but much tighter than the traditional American layout. Go with the Loft King or Hive King for more space. One of my favorite features is that they are pet friendly. I often travel with my dog, and when I do, I don't have to worry about additional fees. Sadly my most recent experience with them left much to be desired. âŚ
Courteous service, attractive motif throughout the hotel. Our room was ready on time, clean and comfortable. Check out easy. Front staff very helpful with restaurant suggestions and directions. This is our 5th stay and we will continue to enjoy future visits to Hotel Hive
Very friendly hotel. Cool vibes. Aqunita/Q went above and beyond to help me when I needed to move rooms in order to have a desk for some zoom meetings. She was so helpful and friendly. And even offered me a free/delicious pizza while she and Shanta moved my luggage to the new room, Great area too. Super close to the Mall and Kennedy Center.
Yes - itâs a micro hotel so rooms are small. Great staff! Great location for GW parents. Rooftop bar is wonderful on a nice night. Bar area was lively and the pizza is really good. Truly a great stay.
The hotel was very clean and comfortable with a great staff! It has a super location and fantastic views from the roof top bar! I recommend highly! Also the pizza on the property was fresh and delicious đ
We chose Hotel Hive for its proximity to where our son lives but we will return for several reasons. The hotel staff kept reminding us that Hotel Hive is a âmicroâ hotel, meaning rooms are small and they donât have the amenities of a larger property. What they do have, however, is a very welcoming and helpful staff. Our room was perfect for our weekend needs. It was clean, comfortable and had plenty of space for us. On Friday we had lunch from &Pizza and it was fabulous. On Saturday we visited the rooftop bar - it was terrific. Views are nice and the service was great. I sat at the main bar on Monday afternoon to do some work while my husband worked and took calls in our room. The bartender, Alexis shared with me that she was new. Youâd never guess that from the ease at whichâŚ
We loved our "micro" room at Hotel Hive! It truly suited our 2-night 5th anniversary trip. Noise was not an issue in our Queen Hive room. Chanta treated us like friends and spent a lot of time helping us plan our sightseeing adventures. We took her advice and ended up with the perfect day. We highly recommend her services and that of Hotel Hive!
The entire staff was really kind and professional. Q welcomed us upon arrival, we loved seeing her throughout our stay- she really went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and had what we needed (not to mention her vibes are great). Kaiya was another team member we enjoyed getting to know over breakfast. And finally, Trevor was awesome when we were at the bar late at night. We will definitely be back, the cozy rooms were exactly what we needed. They were clean and comfy. Hive was about a 6 minute walk to the nearest metro and the bus stops right by the hotel can be used if you'd rather go that route. The pizza from the attached restaurant is also top notch. Thanks to everyone!
I made an unexpected trip to DC to see my daughter at GW. The Hive is very convenient to the metro and campus. The staff is A++! Check in was great. I have a hearing issue and it was hard for me to hear Q, the lady checking me in but she repeated herself when I had to ask her to a few times was very kind. I liked that she (Q) genuinely likes working there, she smiles a lot, is sincere in wanting you to have a pleasant stay and seems proud of the place. Our room was downstairs and on the website it said it could be noisy and it was at times but during normal sleeping hours it was fine. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were perfect. The hotel is a micro hotel so the space is small but it was clean and had everything you needed. They have a texting service that is soâŚ
After looking at LOTS of options for a brief trip to DC from up in Canada, we chose Hive - & loved it! Such a great vibe & value, the staff were super helpful & friendly (thanks ChantĂĄ & Q!), and it was a great location to explore DC from. We requested the room at the top of the corner and loved the view and exposed beams. It was clean and a great place to relax, and the pizza and bar were also fantastic. Weâll be back!!
Ms. ChantĂŠ is one of the kindest and most helpful people you could ever meet! There was a minor inconvenience with my room, but she ever so graciously took matters into her own hands to make my hive feel like a home! :)

Marcel's is a French-Belgian fine dining restaurant that offers outstanding food, impeccable service, and a relaxing ambiance. The restaurant's tasting menus, lobster flan, and La Belle Farm Duck Breast are some of the dishes that received high praise. While some customers find the restaurant expensive, they still appreciate the multi-course meals, quality of service, and the classic French experience. Marcel's has adapted well to the pandemic by reducing the number of tables, spacing them out, and ensuring the safety of their customers.

London House is a beautiful hotel located in the heart of Chicago, with exceptional views of the city. The staff is friendly, professional, and attentive to guests' needs, going above and beyond to ensure their stay is perfect. The hotel has great amenities, including a rooftop bar and a restaurant with delicious food. There were a handful of negative experiences, including some issues with rooms and noise, but overall guests were pleased with their stay.

Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in Miami is an impressive historical estate that is worth a visit. The 70-room villa and estate was built between 1914 and 1923 at a cost of $15 million by businessman James Deering. The Italianate mansion is spectacular with numerous displays, and the surrounding 50-acre gardens are stunning. The gardens were designed to incorporate nature, which is apparent as visitors stroll through the formal gardens and the informal gardens. A guided tour of the house is recommended, and the audio tour provides great descriptions of the extensive property.
