Many customers found the Big Bus Singapore tour to be a convenient way to explore the city. Some praised the live location tracker on the app, while others wished for more informative commentary. The bus stops were not well signposted, according to some reviewers. The night tour received positive feedback, and the staff was described as friendly and helpful. However, there were also complaints about high prices, limited routes, and issues with ticket validation.

I bought the 2 day bus ticket, as I had a bit of spare time to explore Singapore. It was very easy to buy the ticket online & I downloaded their app, so I could see a live location of the buses. I wish they had actual people doing the commentary, to fill in any gaps with useful information, when the buses were stuck at traffic lights. Good experience, plenty of stops to get on & off too.

Very hard to find bus stops to pick this bus up even the locals had no idea. It is very expensive at about $85 when you can get a three day pass on the Mrt for $30 which also covers buses on the same routes, would never do it again.
Loved both the red and yellow day time linesLoved the stops The best way to see the sights of SingaporeStarted on the undercover roof and after the botanical gardens sat in the air conditioning Fabulous experience
Was expensive but good way to get around Singapore. Get a slight discount if you book also with the tickets Garden by the Bay. Only slight grumble as the stops aren't sign posted, have to download the app.
Booked a 2 day essential tour and just managed to catch the last ride on the first day, total of 8 stops. Driver gave me map and ear plugs and ticket. Went to ride the next day and I need ticket from yesterday. Cant find it, did not think I needed it so not important. Not allowed on the Bus. Rang customer service and they said bad luck, no ticket no ride. No refund or ticket reprint available so bad luck, this was a ticket for 3 people so a loss of over $120 dollars. Not even an offer for complimentary ride pass for the day. Lucky Night ride was a different ticket or could have missed out on that too. Customer service was useless and never been so frustrated in my life. Will never use them again so be careful and don't lose your ticket.Summary:Ticket cost $AUD3188 stops and a night tourGrab car would be a lot cheaper
I visited Singapore twice for business in July and on each occasion, I bought tickets for the bus. On my first visit, I just found the nearest bus stop and waited for the bus and on the second occasion I bought the tickets online. It was a straight forward process on each occasion.I bought a day ticket and I was aware that this was only until 5. There are 2 routes, the yellow route and the red route. The single ticket covers both. Tips:1. If you want to do a lot of sight seeing and the plan is to hop on hop off, you will need to do one route per day. There isn’t enough hours in the day to do both. However, if you just want to sit on the bus then, yes, you can cover both routes.2. If the plan is to hop on and hop off, you need to download the app. This will guide you to the required bus stops because they are not clearly signposted. Also, the app is quite handy because you can track the buses.3. All buses go up to Suntec city where you can change but you can also change anywhere in the city.4. The headphones are really good, I managed to keep mine all day but I understand you need to pay for a replacement. They also gave us ponchos when it started raining, all included in the price.5. To ensure I got back to my hotel after, I made sure I got one of the last buses and got off at a bus stop closest to my hotel. If you miss the last bus, you can get a taxi using the grab app which you have to download in advance, add a payment method or make sure you have cash. Or you can get the MRT but it’s easier to get a taxi.
We bought a 48 hr bus pass. We did the yellow route on the first day from outside our hotel and was a little shorter than we would of liked and didn’t really cover the sights we wanted to see. On the second day we did the red tour. We ended up at Suntec when the torte ended and was told all yours end at 17.20 and if we wanted to go further we would have to pay an additional S$59 each. Problem was we was miles from our hotel and as we had only planned to do the tour had left our card in the hotel as we didn’t think we would have need for it. We was now stranded 1 hour 20 minutes walk from the hotel. They don’t advertise the fact a 48 hr ticket is only valid from morning to 17.20 anywhere we found. I accept it isn’t a 24hr a day operation and even when we explained our situation we was told “sorry mister not our problem”. Bear in mind do your tours early in the day as as soon as you reach Suntec you will be stranded. Compared to nearly every other city we have done these tours on with this company this one is a rip off. Look for other providers if I was you. You don’t really get near the sights to see just a passing observation from afar.
Saw so much and saved time, the yellow line had most the attractions but red line was good and shorter so we could spend more time on the redAir con was brilliant and open air was great until it rained but the undercover did the jobNight tour was great and June our host was fantastic Would highly recommend doing it over 2 days if you want to take your time and enjoy
Night tour guide Salam and driver Steve were both Great!! Great people to I learned alot from Salam, he is helpful, supportive, kind, honest person keep up the great service both or you was my dream team
It was a really nice experience with big bus, the two routes cover most of the attractions, and the bus is pretty frequent, with explanation in chinese
A comfortable way to see the city layout and hear history and facts. Only downside is if you get on the route at any location besides suntect base, you will need to change buses when you arrive at suntect stop, even if you are continuing on the same line . Sometimes a 15 minute wait for the bus.
We had a rainy day which had most inside and you cannot see much due to the promo sign writing they have over the windows - go figure on a sightseeing bus. When we did get upstairs most of the commentary points weren't working. More music than than commentary and long delays between pick ups. For a couple its better value for money to take a few 'grab rides' and download a walking tour. Shame as we have had good experiences in London, Amsterdam and Istanbul.
Purchased a 2 day pass and a night tour. Such a great way to relax and be taken to see the sights in Singapore.Did the yellow line on my first day and then the night tour and the red line on my 2nd day.Excellent descriptions of where to get the bus. Helpful staff and great choice of upstairs or inside downstairs. The night tour was really great and had some great stops and additional information from the guide about Singapore in general.Would highly recommend this, esp night tour.
Excellent tour where, surprisingly, we weren't really blocked by major traffic jams.Saw all the inner Singapore sights again which is the best way for us oldies even although we'd been to Singapore at least three times before.Absolutely recommend this.
This is a great tour to get the overall lay out of the city. The presenter on my tour was informative. I liked that he get metro numbers for how to return to the areas visited.
I purchased a two-day hopper + night tour for 2 adults but I lost my paper tickets at the end of the first day. The company will ONLY honor the paper tickets and won’t print them twice so it didn’t matter we had the original email with the code to scan. We missed the second day of the ride and the night tour for this reason. This company policy seems ridiculous and should aim to change it.
Most enjoyable and informative. A special mention, Mr Winston Goh, on ticket duty, what a friendly, helpful gentleman, a credit to your business!
Basically we rode one route for 1.5 hours for $180. We always head to the red top bus in any country we visit around the world… but this second rate comparison just doesn’t cut it. We only had an overnight stay so thought it would be nice to utilise the bus . Jumped on at 2pm, so had until 2pm the next day validity, were flying out next morning but thought the $ was ok for a few hour tour. The driver failed to notify us that the $180 we paid didn’t include the night tour, and that the “day” bus ceased services at 5pm. Got on yellow line tour at 2pm, rode until 3.30, went to check out a sight, went to get back on at 5.30, sorry buses aren’t running now, it will cost you another $180 for the “night” tour. NO bus tour that we have ever experienced around the world changes the bus to a brown one and calls it the “night tour” red top bus tours allows you use your 24 hour ticket at any time of the day that suits you! Tried to negotiate to pay less for the night tour.. but got the same robotic lame bad customer service that they respond with on this forum. Stop money grabbing and allow people to enjoy this beautiful city whether it be day or night.
We loved the Hop on Hop off bus in Singapore! We bought a two day ticket and the Night Tour. Winston helped us buy the tickets and gave us recommendations on what to do and see. Gee was our guide on the Night Tour and he was great too! We had a wonderful time!
I learned so much during this tour! Gee and Captain Steven were friendly, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and attentive! It’s a wonderful way to visit some of the city’s highlights.
Very iffy driving but gets you from a to b via arepetitive simple limited routes. Much prefer MRT and very reasonable taxi fares. MRT journey averaged 6p. 6 English pennies. Bus timetable also very easy to follow and much safer.
We often use a big bus tour to get to know a new city we visit. Despite being in Singapore on 4 previous occasions we had not taken a bus tour, so decided it was overdue. We were surprised and enjoyed getting to know more of the city. The only downside was the traffic in places which made it slow going.
Can't beat this way to see the city and learn about is history, the people and architecture. We did the Red Line one day and the Yellow Line the next. Stopped to get off at several great sites including Chinatown, Indian are and Botanical Gardens as well as restaurants,
We have used BigBus before in many cities including Singapore and recommended them to others. Not anymore. Really bad service this time. They say you can pay when you get on the bus. Did not work for us when we tried to board outside our hotel stop. Bus driver said he had no means to accept payment. So had to take a taxi to Suntec and buy tickets there. Got on blue bus but the driver was in such a hurry he set off while I was still climbing stairs and I nearly fell, even though there is a massive big sign warning passengers not to use stairs when bus is moving. maybe they should teach the drivers to respect this! He missed several stops en route and missed the stop we wanted even though wd had stood to get off!.Also on none of the buses we took were there any complimentary earphones available so were unable to hear the commentary. Overall I'd say we will be using one of the other bus tour operators in future.
Again, just like other travelers advised... it's over priced for what you get to see and do. The drivers a are not very friendly (I guess that's what Big Bus hires worldwide). They will yell at you if you carry a drink on the bus. Why, the floors are dirty and plastic bottles rolling around on every single bus we where on.Night tour is ok, but the tour guide spent the first 10 minutes of the tour going over rules and requirements from their insurance company... nobody cares about that. But don't worry they will still drop all kinds of hints about tipping.
As some others have mentioned on here, the Hippo Pass Card was a waste of a purchase. NOT RECOMMENDED! We had bought the 5 event card thinking that we simply show up and show the card to get in….. what we found out later and that the reps selling the card did not inform us is that you must obtain tickets through Hippo/Duck tours directly or go to another random location to the park or tour you want to do. This cost us time and frustration!! We missed the Botanical Garden light show due to this as we arrived just in time for tickets or so we though only to find out that we were directed to another location to buy the tickets. My advice, buy tickets either directly through vendor/park or look online as sometimes there are discounts through park website for 10-15% off.
Do the sums. It's just as cheap to purchase at the attraction at your leisure.Don't bother with the 48hr bus pass as if your using it to go to attractions, it's cheaper to use taxis's.The 48hr bus pass was $50 per head and that bus a lot of taxi fares, without the wait.
Bought a 5 top attraction pass, only to know that this pass can be misused by anyone at the redemption counters. In my case one of the adult passes was misused and I had to buy one adult ticket at one attraction for the misused pass.Customer service is extremely customer unfriendly. Even after checking on their system on the usage of one of the card was not in line with the usage pattern of other family members, they didn’t do anything to help. The name of this customer unfriendly, customer service executive, on the phone was Monica. Also note, if you have hit a unpleasant experience, it will be only at the end of your tour because the misused card balance will show insufficient.Buy specific passes for the attractions, which you want to see rather than this card. I bought 6 more single attraction passes for each member of my family, it meant being environmentally unfriendly I.e had to manage 24 plastic cards instead of 4. These cards were specific for each family member and each attraction; these worked better and cheaper than the combo. Also, the single passes become useless as soon as you had redeemed them, which meant no chance of misuse. Also, don’t bother to call the customer service if you have been defrauded, it will be waste of time and it will just raise your anxiety.
We purchased the Singapore pass. I asked if we need to decide which attractions we wanted to go to and they said no the pass is your ticket. They give you a book detailing all the attractions you can use it on. At Gardens by the Bay we queued only to find out that there is a special queue for this pass. At the MBS Skypark we were told we had to redeem our ticket at the Duck and Hippo offices. When we got back to the office they said the book tells you where to redeem contradicting what we were told earlier. You are saving very little and the aggravation just isn't worth it plus you feel like a second class citizen using it. The guys on the deck were really rude and one even spoke to us in this native language and you don't have to be clever to know it wasn't complimentary. Avoid!

Some passengers suggest adjusting the departure time. However, there are complaints about seat allocation, hygiene, and handling of sick passengers. Despite these issues, the airline offers amenities like free seat reservations for travelers with children and generous amenity kits. Air Mauritius also provides a sleep package and free headphones. The business class seats are spacious, and the airline receives praise for its customer service.
