Volunteers are what makes most churches run. The problem is that in many churches there aren't enough to grow around. This is the problem this book seeks to answer and answer it does. Nick gives us 5 part framework in section one not only how to get the ones you need now but how to create a playbook (system) to keep getting more. Section one makes it worth the cost but the rest of the book is great too. Buy this if you are a church leader who needs volunteers.

I am so impressed with this book and how thorough it is. Nick has thought of so many aspects of building and maintaining a healthy volunteer team and it's laid out in such a practical way. The tools at the end of every chapter are also super practical. I'm sure your staff team will benefit from simply purchasing the book and following the steps that Nick has laid out.

There's so much I want to say in how great this book is for beginners and also for those who have been working with volunteers for awhile. Nick does a great job of creating a framework and putting to words so much of what I have been experiencing in leading and building volunteer teams. I truly wish that I had this book available when I first began working in ministry. He brings so much practical wisdom with such great, practical actions steps. There's such a strong focus on the fundamentals, but at the same time, there's so much more to dive into to go deeper. Plus, there is so much amazing bonus content from Nick himself as well as currating other great books for you to dive deeper in any of the areas of his framework. 5 ⭐️ out of 5. I will definitely be looking to buy this for new staff members (and maybe even coaches, iykyk) as we look to absorb these principles into our culture.

This book covers everything a ministry leader needs to know to help them lead people to take the best next step in their faith journey-serving! If you've been in ministry long, you know how important it is to inspire people to use their gifts and talents to serve/volunteer. Those who are serving are far more likely to take even more next steps closer to Jesus. It is also one of the best ways for people to experience community as well. Thank you Nick for making this sometimes intimidating process seem doable and exciting.

This book is a game changer, in every sense of the word. It's sprinkled with lots of small to medium game changing actions and "plays to run" that will take so much of the stress out of your plans for volunteer recruitment and retention in church ministry. It’s scalable for the size of your team (and the team of your dreams) and easy to integrate into your weekly schedule, even if you only work part time in ministry.

I've been in Kids Ministry for over 20 years and found this book very helpful. I wish this book had been around when I first started in ministry, because it would have saved me from mistakes I made early on. The book is full of great ideas I plan to implement immediately. It was also a great tool to help me evaluate some processes and structures we currently have in place. I love the "plays to run" at the end of each chapter. Super practical!!
