Keren Restaurant in Washington D.C. offers authentic and flavorful Ethiopian and Eritrean cuisine. Though small, the restaurant is popular with both vegans and non-vegans and is known for its lentils, Tibs, Tilapia, and Injera bread. The service is pleasant and competent, and the prices are reasonable. However, parking may be difficult to find. Despite its simple decor, Keren is a gem that should be on everyone's list of must-try restaurants in Adams Morgan.

Everything was superb. From the service and charm, to the copious amounts of the most delicious food. This restaurant in Adams Morgan needs to be on everyone’s list who enjoys flavorful food!
Wonder family owned restaurant with extremely limited seating. Service was great. Very casual but excellent food. Our waitress was very patient with our one daughter who is extremely picky and not open to trying ethnic foods. Make it a priority to dine at this casual...gem.More gem.
Rated #6 restaurant in DC right now, and it's clear why. Nice choice in menu items and delightful tastes!
Small restaurant near Adams Morgan area. Standard choices, all well done. Warm, pleasant service. Lentils were particularly good.
It’s a small restaurant and quite popular. We had to wait in line, but only for a few minutes. The staff is friendly and efficient. The food arrived faster than we anticipated. It was delicious!
Me and my friend are visiting DC for a weekend and stopped by this place because of the reviews, and will be back if we come again. The flavor was so good and mine had a little bit of a slow burn.
Pleasant and competent service at a low price. Good food and quickly served. Haven't been in an ethiopean restaurant for some time, but in Wash, DC there are great choices!
🔥🔥AMAZING PEOPLE come here just do it ahaha i know details are important I just passed it and remembered from a year ago but this app is forcing me to like, expound. It's GOOD WHATEVER haha. We dined at lots of great places in DC during our week-long vacation, and this was by far my favorite. It's a small, nondescript space in need of some updating, but it's also the kind of place where you think mom or grandma might be...in the kitchen preparing the food. When we got a peek into the kitchen that suspicion was confirmed. The food was SO good - expertly prepared with perfect seasoning balance. It was also plentiful, and very well-priced. The service was warm and friendly. This is not a fancy place, but for a casual breakfast or lunch you won't find anything better. Food and service was great! However, both my business associate and myself had stomach issues following the meal. I had diarrhea for 3 days following the eating of this meal. It is not fun having diarrhea or runs for 3 days of a business trip....There must have been bacteria in the food from Ethiopia. I would have second thoughts of having another meal at this restaurant, even though the food and service was great.More There must have been bacteria in the food from Ethiopia. Very good value for money; great veggie combo; huge portions. Informal atmosphere & friendly staff. Recommended
Good food friendly service Price was very reasonable. Enjoyed the vegetarian selections we chose. Recommend.
Service was great, staff was friendly and food was served in a very short period of time. It was my family's first time trying East African food and Keren was the best spot to do so! It was really the highlight of our day and...for sure a meal we won't forget any time soon. The food was exquisite.More for sure a meal we won't forget any time soon. The food was exquisite.
Good food, not expensive. Tried their Keren special, almost everyone gets some version of that. Definitely recommend checking this place out.
On the flip side, the wait can be long as it’s a small place. Ambience is ok at best, place stinks sometimes
Seriously so delicious. Two people could easily share the veggie combo. Great vine in there, about 8 tables.
I really liked this restaurant, for its simplicity and its excellent cuisine, everything is homemade with fresh produce, very good
Found Keren while searching trip advisor looking for a place to eat. I am glad it did. The food was really good and plentiful. I had never tried Ethiopian food before, so this was all new to me. The place is very small and dated...More
We had to wait in line for our table. But it was worth it.
Delicious food.
Though our 5 years old eat only bread, it was too spicy for him.
Great place for some great Ethiopian food. Keren is very friendly to your wallet. If you come here during the weekend be prepared to wait before getting seated.
If you're looking for authentic Ethiopian cuisine check them out. The food and service was great!! We had the Injera bread with a few of the side dishes. I especially loved the red lentils and beef.
Good food, casual eat with your fingers EthiopiN fare. Well done by a concientious owner and friendly helpful staff.
This was a great place for Vegan and NonVegans alike. The food is so delicious...we basically asked them to bring us vegan friendly things for our party of 5 to share. They have great prices and the meal is satisfying.

Went with a friend who recommended trying Ethiopian food or lunch, and I was not disappointed! Great service and a clean bathroom!
Upfront my only negative is the location. As is the case with most DC restaurants, parking is at a premium and so it is for the Keren Restaurant on Florida Avenue. But hey, its best to use public transportation in DC anyway and if its...More
Small and authentic, we eat this kind of food at a restaurant at home and if you like injera bread and the real thing, this restaurant has it. Also had something American for our friend who didn't want Ethiopian.
The food is awesome and worth the wait. I ended up sharing a table - whatever it takes. We had a great communal meal. Tibs and Tilapia. Really amazing spices and sides. Eating with you hands means PUT DOWN THE IPHONE and interact with your...More
This place has amazing Eritrean food that comes out of a tiny kitchen. Great to have a unpretentious place in the neighborhood
As my family and I ate our way through the city my daughter found Keren on TA. Not having had Eritrean food we decided to Uber out and give it a shot. Glad we did. It's smaller than expected and as decor goes, pretty low...More

The steakhouse at The Grand Hotel in Tusayan received mixed reviews for food quality, service, and high prices. Some customers had good experiences and enjoyed the country-style family dining atmosphere, while others complained of slow service, overpriced food, and low-quality steak. The decor and ambience were generally praised, but many diners felt that the restaurant did not live up to expectations for the price. Breakfast options were also criticized for being overpriced and low-quality.
