Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less by Greg McKeown offers a philosophy focusing on doing less of what's essential, prioritizing clear goals, and living a meaningful life. Although some find the book impactful, others criticize its length, excessive name-dropping, and lack of practical tips. The book emphasizes prioritization, eliminating distractions, and leading a purposeful life. Readers appreciate the core concept of essentialism but find certain sections too prescriptive. Overall, the book inspires readers to simplify their lives, make better choices, and focus on what truly matters for a fulfilling existence.

I like the simplicity genre in general and my favourite book on the topic is Your Money or Your Life. When a friend recommended Essentialism, it sounded like a great companion book. It was not. Although it had some valuable suggestions for prioritising what is important to a person, it also had a coldness about it that suggested that doing things for others is for schmucks. Not for me thanks!
This book found me at the right time. Overworked and burnout itâs helped me right the ship and get back on course. This will be a future re-read for sure.
