This bike rack is easy to assemble and well-made. It holds bikes securely and is sturdy during transportation. Some customers had issues with missing parts and loose bolts, but overall, it is a great value for the money.

It seemed well built except for it rusting in less than two weeks. Used it for a 2 week camping trip. I emailed customer support and they said looks like water stayed on those parts for quite some time. Didn’t think 2 weeks of using it would cause issues. How do you transport bikes when it’s raining while traveling? Junk.

Thick metal and a convenient collapsible design, so more than just 1 star, but:

- missing a bolt (I had a spare in the garage)
- no tire clip, so the front wheels flop when you bounce
- deep grooves that didn't work for my Cannondale
- threaded pin for the hutch receiver is a PAIN. the zinc is hard to screw in, especially since trailer holes never align perfectly. You have to twist the bolt and bounce the 20lb device on your shoulder to get it on or off (lots of fun after a 25mi ride). Apparently they sell their own locking version that fits better, but I have other trailer hitch accessories and don't need a library of special pins

It could be made much better with some simple alterations, but unfortunately I'm returning mine.

  Sturdy that I feel like I can hang my small car on it behind my RV. I like the fact that it has a triangular structure to hold the horizontal and vertical tubes together. I am still going to use lashing straps and steel cables to tie the bicycles to the vehicle chassis.

  I love the fact that this bike rack tilts down allowing access to the back of your vehicle. We have a truck and it's nice to be able to access the bed of the truck even with the bike rack installed.

  I am thoroughly impressed with this bike rack and fitted perfectly with the 2” hitch on my SUV. It came with the hitch bolt and all the nuts and bolts and mostly pre-assembled, all I needed to do was to screw in the bike brackets and two bolts and put my bikes and go. :-)

  I bought this rack from Amazon and it was missing the hitch pin. Contacted Maxxhaul customer service thinking it would be no big deal. After going round and round about it, they won't send me the 3 dollar hitch pin. They would rather me package the whole bike carrier up and send it back to Amazon. What a joke!

  Nice quality for the money. Assembly was easy, 5 to 10 minutes. Tilts out for hatch clearance as necessary. Haven't hung a bike on it yet so cant speak for the functionality as a "bike carrier".

  Very pleased with this rack so far after a few trips. I've used it to hold 3 bikes and it's great. I did need an extender for my Jeep Wrangler with 33" spare tire. I also needed to use 2 stabilizers (one where rack attaches to extender, and one where extender attaches to hitch). It was definitely wobbly without the stabilizers, but once those were installed, it works perfectly.

  I shopped around a little bit for one of these bike racks, as it was for my childrens’ bikes. I came across this one here on Amazon, and love the folding features and breakdown. Assembly was extremely easy, installation, too little to no time, and this thing looks like it will hold up for sure!

  I got this a while ago. The base insert for inserting into the hitch is sloppy. They do sell a clamp on here to stop that which I got anyway for my other inserts when pulling trailers. It fits my Silverado and suburban receiver just fine. That being said holds four bikes and is a decent holder. I can't give it a five because of the sloppy base. I'd recommend this product.

  The product pictures show a different product apparently because this post is significantly shorter then even what's shown in the instructions. It fits just right if I turn it upside down, but right side up the angle hits my bumper and is about 2 inches too short. Unfortunately I bought it last year and cannot return.
