  • During my recent visit to Ichiban Boshi, a restaurant I've frequented for many years, I couldn't help but notice a significant change in the portion sizes and quality of one of my favorite set meals.I typically order the set that includes a mini bowl of chili salmon and an unagi rice bowl, along with other condiments. This combination has been a go-to for me since my first visit to Ichiban Boshi. One aspect I particularly enjoyed was the chili salmon rice bowl, which used to be generously topped with slices of salmon and drizzled with sesame oil, providing a delightful flavor profile with a hint of spiciness.However, during my recent visit, I couldn't help but feel disappointed. The once ample slices of salmon that used to cover the bowl have noticeably decreased in quantity. This change not only affects the overall visual appeal of the dish but also impacts the eating experience. The reduction (or non-existent) in sesame oil has further contributed to a diminished flavor profile that was once a highlight of the meal.It's disheartening to observe such a decline in what was once a consistently satisfying dish.

  • We are regulars here, dining here almost every other week. The restaurant is usually crowded but most of the service staff are always prompt and friendly.However today, I was shocked to encounter a female staff who does not acknowledge when we request for help, walks off halfway while we are speaking and subsequently pretends not to see us when we wave for service.Already we do not order the food via the service staff as it’s through our phone hence we would expect at least a minimal level of service eg. Obtain kids cutlery. She avoids eye contact and pretends not to hear us when she is barely 30cm away. Very appalled at how we were being treated. I saw other customers waving for her attention but failed to get her attention too. I have given my feedback to one of the regular service staff and he said that he has informed the manager.I would strongly encourage this service staff to be retrained and to obtain some customer service skills, or perhaps this customer-facing role might not be suitable for her if she dreads having any contact with customers.

  • 10/10 🤤 Very authentic, and very generous serving sizes as we were all stuffed full with leftovers to spare. The set meals are great value and come with so many delicious sides. Chirashi was absolutely divine, I highly recommend ordering a dish with fresh fish/sashimi as it is truly their speciality and the freshest fish we’ve ever tasted. This was even better than the food we ate in Japan.

  • Mixed experiences here.Sushi like dishes are good.Teriyaki chicken is clearly reheated not freshly cooked.Stuffed squid seems great, but it lacks flavor.I’d only recommend for regular taste sushi. Menu is big, not all dishes have been tried but it not appealing anymore.
