  • Exactly what I wanted and delicious

I was a little nervous from the conflicting reviews. But since stupid costco doesn't carry anymore, had little choice. It's organic and most importantly non cancerous bpa free can lining. There's twelve cans it comes to about three dollars per can so not bad price wise. Delivered to your door what more can you ask I was pleasantly surprised how good it tastes. Nice semi soft texture very tasty.

  • Soggy

With a few exceptions, the hearts of palm were totally soggy, like overcooked potatoes.

    Wouldn’t buy again.

  • These are a little bland, but good for Chinese food, good price.

I like bamboo. If you like just eating bamboo as it is - you should look for a different brand that is more seasoned. These are bland, but that is good for stir fry cooking. Most Chinese restaurants around me do not use bamboo any more, so I add this to the Chinese food and it is perfect because its neutral, it does not over power anything, so you can mix in as much as you want.

  • Dented Cans

I like the hearts of palm in this product, but at least half the cans in the 12-can box are dented. It's not due to shipping, as the box itself arrives undamaged. It's very apparent that the cans are dented before they are placed in the box. That's significant, as severely dented cans may lead to botulism. Native Forest seriously needs to address their canning procedure.

  • Bad Quality

I was surprised at the very bad quality as it was the same brand I buy locally in a store. The product was the worse quality I've ever had from hearts of palm.
Not what I expected as I buy from local store all the time and love it.
This product had very tough palm hearts to the point I was not able to bite through most of the stalks.
Half the cans were so severely dented that I was afraid to use them fearing botulism.
I would not buy this product from Amazon again.

  • Approximately half of each can is too tough to eat.

I can't fault the flavor here... they're delicious, just as all hearts of palm are as far as I'm concerned. However, I'm not exaggerating when I say that at least half of the stalks in each can are too tough to bite through and if you manage to get a bite, you're left with a mouthful of fiber to spit out after chewing for a bit. Soooo disappointing. I had signed up for Subscription on these, but I'm canceling as soon as I finish writing this.

  • Best palm hearts ever tasted!

These are the best palm hearts we've ever tasted! I didn't think these were very 'healthy' but a bit of research changed that thinking.

Due to their fairly low carb and fat levels, they're low in calories. They're relatively high in protein, containing 17 amino acids including all nine essential amino acids that can't be made by the body and have to be obtained through diet. They're a rich source of zinc, which speeds up the recovery time for wounds, and rich in Vitamin K and A as well as several beneficial minerals.

The Native Forest Organic Hearts of Palm have the best taste and texture of all the ones we've tried. They've become a part of just about every salad we have.

March 10, 2022 UPDATE: I just took off one star because our latest shipment (12 cans pre-packed in a small cardboard box) had 4 cans badly dented.

  • 4 (of 12) cans were dented

Product is good, but this is the second box I've received from this vendor that contained dented cans. (4 of 12) Outside of the box looked okay upon receipt, but I didn't unpack it till today.
