  • Didn't stay long enough

    What a fantastic hotel,we stayed in the heritage Wing, rooms where very large. Just wished we had booked a extra few days .has we only booked 2 .our mistake .there's so much to do .and see . Just be careful of getting back to airport the roads are extremely busy.at one stage we didn't move for 10mins. But overall beautiful

  • Amazing hotel!

    Stayed 3 nights here to celebrate my birthday and it was amazing. The reception service was fast and good. The room service was amazing, our rooms were cleaned twice a day! The staffs were all so friendly. The buffet breakfast was really good. So many options to choose from. The hotel even gave me a slice of cake for my birthday.

  • Farquhar’s Bar really is a must do when in Penang

    Had a wonderful walk around this very grand hotel. Met Alison who was very charming indeed and provided some background to the hotel history and invited us to stay when next in Penang which we will. Thank you Allison for the background and for making us very welcome. We had a lovely stay and a few drinks at Farquhar’s Bar that really is a must do when in Penang. Thanks to the staff of the bar whom made us feel so welcome.

  • Fantastic accommodation

    We loved our stay in the Victory wing. The rooms were really comfortable and a great size. Our balcony had a great view and was a lovely place to relax and enjoy a drink. The buffet breakfast was amazing. So many options which made it had to decided what to have. The pool was a great place to relax. It was in a great location and easy walking distance to explore George Town.

    Amazing hotel, pool and restaurant. A great experience. Incredible old hotel brilliantly restored. The kids thought the breakfast buffet was the highlight of the stay. Great views, location and staff.

  • Perfect hotel

    Everything was perfect. We were 3 adults in a Premier Suite in the heritage wing. The room was big enough for 3 & the bathroom was huge. We enjoyed the comfy beds, free evening drinks & buffet breakfast. The room had an oceanview balcony & the view was gorgeous.

  • Probably thr best run hotel in the Far East

    I don't know why this gem escaped me for so long. The E&O has been brought into the 21st century with dignity and poise, elegant and functional, looking back to its past but with modern comforts. Everything worked prrfectly from the sumptious breakfasts, coctails in Farquhars and the balcony oberlooking the Andaman sea.

  • Nightmare from hell

    Paid 1500 for our room and put us under the ballroom. Noise was intolerable. Offered us another room. We got unpacked and settled only to find the air-conditioning was working. The reception manager was aware of this and offered us a fan. We are seniors. His attitude was dismissive and rude. This is how the E &O treats seniors. Think twice. Better places elsewhere.
