  • Nice park and location, friendly staff

    As a holiday park, you get the perfect balance of peaceful location but nearby to Volendam and short bus ride to central Amsterdam. The supermarket is handy, swimming pool clean and the pool/darts bar was fun. Reception staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The accommodation was more basic than I would have hoped for or expected. Uncomfortable lounge furniture, no oven, mediocre bed comfort, poor room lighting and small TV screen. The home was clean but not spotless. The doors didn’t seem particularly secure. Small improvements would really help build the guest experience.

  • Must go

    Must visit place in Northern Netherlands. You can go for a day trip from Amsterdam but I do recommend to spend the night over. A charming and beautiful small tourist place. Try to go in a sunny day to enjoy its best. Walk around the Marina and also around the village.

  • Great alternative to Amsterdam

    After two days in Amsterdam we moved up to the Marina park, Roompot Hotel in Volendam. Great spot by the sea, plenty of high quality eateries cheaper than Amsterdam. Hotel was modern and clean with rooms three times the size of ours in the old town in Amsterdam at two thirds of the price. Rode bikes to see traditional fishing villages and windmills. Less than half an hour by bus, great alternative to the rat race.

  • Fantastic location

    Stayed here end of May, travelled with my son's football team and other parents. It is conveniently located to the beautiful resort of Volendam (approx 10 minute walk) where you are spoilt for choice of bars and restaurants. We were lucky to have gorgeous weather during our stay of which we were a little unprepared and some of us were a little burnt after sitting outside one of the bars on the marina. The accomodation has it's own handy little shop which we used a few times. Our apartment was equipped with a hob and dishwasher. We had to put on our own bedding and take it off before leaving. They are very strict there and do not like large groups so please bear this in mind as they may keep your deposit if rules are breached. Our boys were in trouble for kicking an armband…

  • Shockingly good value

    Six of us stayed in a duplex here marinapark for less than you'd spend in a hostile. The facilities are basic but adequate, the addition of a dishwasher is a nice touch for the price point. It's very close to bus services into Amsterdam via the 316 (30minutes running every 20-30 minutes) and good road connections as well as parking. Shopping facilities are in the park with a large supermarket located 5 minute walk outside said park. Make sure to bring your own towels though and bedding is an extra cost but these are little gripes when you factor in cost, the proximity to Amsterdam and the relaxed suburban vibe of Volendam.

  • Beautiful, Cozy Hotel

    We visited Volendam for a day from Amsterdam and decided to stay back for the night at the Marinapark. It was a lovely hotel with spacious rooms and a beautiful terrace/balcony. The beds, bathroom and all other amenities were perfect and much more than what we expected. It was slightly expensive, but definitely worth it and gave us a chance to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery that Volendam has to offer - away from the madness in Amsterdam. Surely would like to be back here! :)

  • Nice area to visit

    Nice surroundings,interesting little fishing village,amazing smoked fishes nice cheese factory in a range of 1500m nice restaurants closed by . Hotel is 15 min by car to Amsterdam has large and clean rooms but very simple facilities! There is also a bus transportation to it. The hotel staff is in a way friendly and for the price value matches our expectations. If someone likes to visit Amsterdam in a cheap and simple way it’s a reasonable address!

  • A unforgettable place

    I visited the fishing village in August. From central station you can take a direct bus there. It is so beautiful and lovely.you should go inside the village instead of walking along the river. I like the quiet streets, old church, residential gardens.many houses are old but reserved very well. Strongly recommend !

  • A hotel which doesn't care about guests

    1. The hotel sends all emails in Dutch only though works for different countries. Probably, there were the instructions what to do in the case of late arrival but I could not learn about that since I don't know Dutch. However, we were lucky to meet other people nearby who, trying to help us, started to knock actively the hotel closed door, and the security came out and provided the room key. 2. The room had no linens !!!! No sheets, to towels, no pillowcases! Their Expedia page does not notify about that. We had to sleep on the mattresses. Instead of pillows, we placed our coats. 3. It turned out in the morning, that we have to pay extra for the linens. We paid since we had no choice. 4. No hangers in bathrooms. While taking shower, where you should place the towel? The…

  • A welcome change from Amsterdam

    Really surprised by the standards in this villa. Booked via booking.com as alternative to over priced accommodation in Amsterdam; yet only 20 minutes away by bus from outside the marina park itself to Amsterdam Central station. On the negative side I was sent an invoice within 48 hours of booking directly from the company who manage Marina Park that included a €65.00 deposit that had to be paid in full within 14 days and you had to provide your own bed linen (you can hire bed linen on site but it is pricey). On the positive side ... where do I begin; this is a 2 bedroom villa with internet television (not that you need it) a balcony with a superb view, central heating, comfortable and it's all yours.
