Visible is a helpful app for managing long COVID symptoms, providing objective measurement of health, tracking symptoms and patterns, and guiding pacing and fatigue management. The app is still in beta but constantly improving with responsive developers. Users highly recommend it for ME/CFS and long COVID sufferers.

Although this app is still in the beta stage and there are (not infrequent) glitches, the team is fantastic, fast to respond to queries and really committed to improving the app and tailoring it to best fit our needs.
It’s the only dedicated app for ME/CFS etc that helps with the unbelievably difficult task of pacing and the ability to customise and fine tune is ever increasing.
I’m thrilled I found it and delighted to be in at the beginning as testing it out, reporting glitches etc helps me to feel purposeful as though I’m helping others down the line as well as myself in the here and now.
Ultimately it is going to be the biggest tool in my box for trying to manage this illness. Thanks so much to all the team and here’s to the future!
Excellent initiative! Very handy for desperate long COVID folks like myself. It helps budget my energy and pace myself.
I love how personal and efficient this startup is! The app is still work in progress. So bugs happen. The team are responding and acting on feedback super-promptly.
Let’s help them make this app awesome and crack the long COVID mistery❤️🩹
March 2020….brutal from then onwards suffering from long covid. This app seems, like it understands..at last, support.
I have had long Covid for over 2 years and fatigue is one of my main symptoms. I started using this app in February 2023 and it has become part of my daily routine. I find the morning score incredibly helpful in planning my day ahead and and it always corresponds with how I’m feeling. It is also helpful to track my symptoms and I use the note function to keep a record if I have done something that could impact my symptoms eg a family gathering.
I also use the score to let my family know how I am feeling and my husband even said to me the other day “let’s see if we can get you back to a number 5!”
The team are always helpful if you have a query and they seem dedicated to creating a tool which will not only help people with chronic illness but will provide “visible “ tracking information to health care professionals on how our illness affects us daily.
I’ve had long covid for nearly 8 months and have been using this app for just over a month. It is SO GOOD to have an objective measurement of my health, since my symptoms seem to fluctuate quite randomly and can’t be relied upon to determine my pacing. The resting heart rate and particularly the HRV measurements seem to be very closely correlated to how I am and have made a big difference to my pacing. I also love that it’s been developed by someone with LC - it’s very clear that he has used his own experience and made it so specific to this illness, but it’s also customisable which is so good.
It’s not completely accurate all the time (presumably this will improve as it continues to be developed), so needs to be used as another tool rather than the be all and end all. I also think the morning stability score should be weighted more towards HR and HRV than symptoms and sleep, since they seem to be more significant in causing/ preventing crashes. The visible plus wearable subscription looks like it’ll be really helpful but is currently way too expensive for me (and I imagine most people). Hopefully the price will come down as more people use it!
All in all, a very useful app with some improvements still to be made, but I am so glad this exists.
Hi there,
I’ve used visible from the very first days it was released to the public. Absolutely love the ethos behind why this app has been developed and the team who are pioneering it are absolutely amazing, after having some personal interaction with a few of the members I’m really really happy to see how passionate everyone is to support this cause.
My only criticism is a generic one in all honesty, the app just seems to become more difficult with each update, I much preferred the 1-10 pacing rating as I felt it was more specific, when receiving my morning reading it was easier to see my stats such as HRV and Resting HR. Now, as someone who’s up early because of education, I feel like I’m fumbling around in the morning trying to find where my HRV is and I only receive a more generic 1-5 score.
The app has become more laggy with each time I use it it seems, even after I’ve upgraded & updated my phone, and it’s becoming more difficult to access the app and log my symptoms and heart measurement.
I’d also really consider adding a specific noise for notifications, it’s no use to me as someone who doesn’t look at their phone that much just receiving a pop up, I don’t notice until a couple hours later then boom… I’ve forgotten to take my meds.
I really do want to consider purchasing the visible plus system, however I can’t justify it at the moment when the software has just become less user friendly & user centric as time has progressed.
Not a knock on Harry or any of the team, developing an app is a massive learning curve, looking forward to see what’s next.
I’ve been using this app for a couple months now and it’s helped me so much more than I could have expected. I’m 23 and have a severe case of ME and with the help of this app I’ve been able to get from bedbound back to housebound. The specific attention to detail in the symptoms you can track shows the genuine passion this team have for helping others suffering with very misunderstood chronic illnesses. Having an indication in the morning as to what I might be able to achieve that day has been beyond valuable to me in aiding me to be more disciplined around pacing. I’m hopeful the new armband feature will only help the whole thing become even more accurate and to help me hour to hour rather than just the morning!
When I contracted long Covid 14 months ago I had no idea what was going on and I couldn’t get to grips with my symptoms/ flair ups.
As recently being diagnosed with pots I find this app amazing for tracking my symptoms and it’s also great for showing patterns and symptom changes to my gp!
I have been using the App since 4 months for managing long covid symptoms. Usually, I feel when I haven’t paced as well as I should but sometimes it is hard to separate fatigue from just ‘being tired in a normal way’. The App guides me every morning to give me an objective HRV rating which I then use as a guide to pace myself during the day. It is invaluable knowing this information.
I highly recommend this App for anyone with ME/CFS/ Long Covid. It’s an easy way to track symptoms, see patterns and help you to manage your condition. Can’t wait for the launch of the wearable with real time pacing- I think it’ll be a game changer! The support from the Visible team is fantastic too. Download now!
I have found the app to be extremely useful in pacing my activity for the day in order to better manage my fatigue. The developers are fabulous and very quick to respond to queries also. Would highly recommend.
I’ve been using it for 3 months, it is really accurate in relation to how I am feeling on any given day. It is so useful to have a heads up that I need to take it easier some days and has helped me pace myself better as I’m not good at being sensible and not overdoing it! I had M.E. and have now had long covid for a year & docs have been no use with either so I am glad I have got this to help me manage things :)
This app has been invaluable for my daily check ins and monitoring of symptoms. The developers are responsive to suggestions for improvement and the app is regularly updated, each update has enhanced the experience and value of the data.
I recommend anyone suffering long covid, ME and CFS to download. The more data that is added the more ‘visible’ these conditions will become for future management. The potential for this is huge on both personal and much wider scales.
Since using it I’ve become more stable but also learnt to be kind to myself when having unstable days. It’s also helped to explain to family, friends & colleagues why some days I can do more & other days I can’t.
This app is so simple to use and has really helped me see my patterns of behaviour and exertion that lead to worsening of symptoms.
The support team regularly tweak the app as a result of feedback and are always at hand to assist and answer questions
In the lonely journey of ME/CFS /long Covid it does feel like you have a supportive friend!
I’ve been struggling to manage my fatigue / energy levels since first contracting Covid 13months ago. Since downloading this app I feel that I am getting a better grip on the things I do each day that impact my fatigue. It has definitely made me more mindful of my energy on days when my scores are low and has helped to validate the daily struggles in my own mind.
Also, the support that I have received from the development team has been fantastic. I sent a message in the early hours one morning when I was struggling with the initial set up (brain fog/ user error) and got a prompt reply at the beginning of the working day. This was then followed up a few days later to ensure that I was managing / had overcome the initial struggle.
Fantastic product, I will be recommending it to others who are unfortunate enough to be on a similar long Covid journey.
Interested to try this out as I have cfs due to HSD. Curious to know why Apple Watch/health capabilities aren’t made use of or if planned? I wouldn’t want to upgrade to your wearable device when I already wear Apple Watch.
The app isn’t accurate for me. I’ve used it before getting up each morning for four months and I’d be better off flipping a coin.
The app itself works well but it’s been off no help to me unfortunately.
I've been using this app since it came out to track my long covid symptoms. The tweaks they've made to it over that time have made it much more accurate for pacing and knowing when you are likely to have a bad day. Looking forward to seeing what the Plus subscription is all about as that sounds like it could be a very useful tool. Highly recommend this for anyone still suffering from that pesky virus.
The app is still in Beta test and it’s still better than anything I’ve used before. The updated HRV test is brilliant and easy to use. I can track my main symptoms, add my own with free text and call up bar or line comparison charts in seconds.
Visible has been brilliant in helping me manage my symptoms and crashes. It’s helped me see when I’m not recovering and should avoid pushing myself too hard. Brilliant app!
I downloaded this app after a suggestion from a friend and it has been genuinely so useful at managing my long covid. It helps me on a day to day basis to manage what I can or can’t do and also helps me review my symptoms and trends over periods of time. Would definitely recommend this to anyone suffering with long covid, 100%!!!
This app is fantastic. It’s easy to use and can be tailored to your symptoms. I’ve only been using it a week but I am already finding it helpful and adjusting what I do based on trends the app is enabling me to see. I’ve had Long Covid nearly 3 years and this is the best tool I’ve found to help me manage my symptoms. If you’re struggling with Long Covid, get this app!
I have long covid and have found the app to be invaluable and informative, assisting me on my way to recovery. The updates have made life even easier with clear information and constructive advice depending upon your pace scores. I feel like I have another way of understanding my body which is so important on this long covid journey.
I would highly recommend this app
I think this app is fantastic I suffer long covid and it has been invaluable in my recovery I wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone that is suffering
If you have Long Covid and trying pacing to help with your fatigue and energy, download this app. I find it really helps me and even though it’s still in Beta, it is really accurate. Other tracker apps are aimed at increasing your activity but this is designed for people with a chronic illness. People like me who are struggling with basic daily tasks. The story behind the launch of the app is inspiring and I’m great-full for people who are looking at improving the lives of people with Long Covid. Thank You.
I’ve been suffering from Long Covid for six months and Visible has made a really demonstrable difference. Finally I have a way to tracking when my energy levels are dipping and to modify my behaviour before I crash.
I’ve got long covid and I’ve been using Visible for six weeks. It’s brilliant. Easy to use and the heart rate variability measure is uncannily accurate. It correlates completely with my ups and downs
One of the hardest parts of an illness like long covid is that you need to monitor your condition constantly, but you don’t have anything to measure. Now at last I have some objective data. For me that’s been invaluable, not only to stop myself overdoing it, but also to measure interventions. I started a new rest regime three weeks ago and Visible told me that it was working. When it started to tail off I showed the results to my physio and she told me what I was doing wrong.
Thanks to all the team. Keep up the good work
I’m hoping I have stabilised with CFS after 3 yrs and wanting to learn more about Heart rate connected to CFS and if a crash could be avoided with its use.
This App uses a pace score which seems easy to follow and does seem to corespondent with how my body is feeling.
It’s great to have support with this illness.
Great job guys.
This app is just brilliant for tracking your HRV. It’s so simple to use in the morning when I am very tired, and the evening symptom tracker is also very straightforward. It’s fabulous that is is designed for people with a long term chronic illness rather than someone who wishes to optimise their exercise regime. I’ve only been using it for a month or so and already its helping me to manage my energy levels and therefore reduce my symptoms. Once again, its just great.
