The Logitech MX Keys Mini is a compact and minimalist keyboard that is excellent for office use. It has a sleek and solid build, with good typing flow. The keyboard is compatible with Linux and can be used for full disk encryption and BIOS password input. However, not all keys work under GNOME Wayland. The keyboard is also praised for its build quality, quiet keys, and long battery life. It is a recommended investment for those who work on both PC and iMac.

The keyboard was nice, but I had difficulty seeing the letters on the keys due to the light grey color in certain lighting. As a result, I returned the keyboard and exchanged it for the granite color, which is ideal and works perfectly for me.
Linux user here. It will work out of the box on Linux if you need to enter your full disk encryption password from the CLI prompt (grub). Also works to input your BIOS passowrd.
Obviously you need to plug it in via the USB wireless connector, as Bluetooth is not available during that process.
Not all keys seem to work under GNOME Wayland. Screenshot and microphone mute are two that did not seem to respond, but this might just be a mapping issue that can be quickly fixes in the DE upstream if someone (me) opens an issue or tweaks things a bit.
this keyboard is excellent for office use, typing flows well. Kind of heavy if you plan on taking it here and there but helps it stay in place
One of the best keyboards I've ever used. Must have if you work on PC and iMac simultaneously.
Gone from the Office environment with the provided keyboard & huge monitor to a remote role & just a poxy 12" Laptop to work off. Grabbed a monitor but the workspace still felt cramped so ditched the Laptop to a stand mount & added the MX Keys Mini & it's been well worth the outlay.
Pairs instantly, battery lasts (for me) 2/3 weeks with backlight between charging based on a 37hr working week. Build quality is excellent, robust & premium with a small footprint & no unnecessary trimmings.
All that's missing now is a decent Bluetooth headset so I'm not having to be shackled to the hub by a wire for the endless 'Teams' meetings.
Keys feel goods. Build quality nice. Top plate all metal but base is plastic. Sleek solid build over all.
The keyboard is really good, slim and compact. Like everyone else says, it’s a great investment.
Very compact and minimalist, very nice to type on. 100% recommended
Bought to replace a K800 and not disappointed, haven't tried the back lighting for any length of time yet as its not really dark enough.
I specifically bought a logitech keyboard because i have an mx master mouse and i could use the unifying receiver for both devices, saving me a usb port in my laptop.
I turns out that logitech have updated the receiver so the keyboard won't work the old receiver and my mouse won't work with the new one.
On top of that, it is a "generic" keyboard for both windows and mac, as a result there are mac keys that are no use to a windows user and vice versa. This leaves the keys for some commands cluttered and hard to read at a glance. You really don't want to have to spend a few seconds staring at a key to decide which writing to ignore. I'm sure in time i'd get used to it, but as i can't use the unifying receiver i can't see the point of making that much effort for a keyboard, i'll just get a dedicated windows one and save myself the effort.
Overall, sent it straight back, not really fit for what i wanted.
I don't know what is wrong with Logitech but they cannot get this keyboard right. I had the original MX Keys but sent it back because the backlight would only stay on for a pathetic 3 seconds before turning off. I bought the S because it allows you to set the max timer for the backlight to turn off to 30 mins. BUT THE BACKLIGHT STILL RANDOMLY TURNS OFF.
DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR MONEY.
Good quality wrist rest, comfortable - recommended
Had to send it back
Shift and CapsLock on the left side of the keyboard are starting to stick with 1mo of constant use (touch typing). Particularly weird as it affects just those two keys.
I've had this keyboard for about an hour now, and I'm still not sure about it but it is likely I will send it back, even if it is to change to the white version.
The good?
The software is quite good, feeling clean, easy, and stable, and largely self explanatory.
The keyboard itself types quietly, but I'll take me more time to get used to the dimpled key caps. Sometimes I double type a letter when I didn't intend to.
The bad?
The most immediate issue to spot is... well where are the keys? The key cap writing is very faint and blends in too well with the rest of the dark colored keyboard. I regretted my decision to purchase the keyboard immediately as I glimpsed the keys, as I was already aware that using the backlight has a major impact on battery life, from months just over a week. If you are going to buy this keyboard, I would recommend the white one for this issue alone.
There's some shortcuts to change the way keys work between Windows, Mac OS and Chrome OS. You'd like these would be something like FN + W, M and C respectively, but no, it is O, C and P respectively. What moron designed that? If you need to reconnect devices and change the mode, there's no easy way to remember these shortcuts without keeping a separate note or reference.
The keyboard has an expected but useful feature where you can lock the F keys in to either the function button or the F key, but unlike other keyboards, there is no indication on the keyboard on when this mode is activated, so if you would like to swap between these modes, you may find it frustrating to do so.
Speaking of keys, the layout of the functions along the top row is a bit strange. F11 is mute, F12 is sound down, and then there's a key for sound up where an F13 could be. This key feels out of place, and this key which isn't part of the F keys should have been something that would have been more helpful to use when you FN lock the keys to the F keys (aka you can use that key without holding FN), such as mute or dictate. But instead they felt volume up is the important key to have that is independant of the F keys system? Weird.
Please note that this keyboard has no FN key on the left side, you cannot use the keyboard as a wired keyboard, and that the text on keys are all lower case. Weird design choices.
Do also keep in mind that there were serious reliability issues with the prior model of this keyboard, which is now heavily discounted. It is too early for any review to say if these issues are present in this newly released device.
Connectivit, comfort, underlight, sleek looking keyboard.
Great keyboard and fantastic feedback from the keys. I do NOT have the backlighting issues and the backlit feature works as intended.
Fantastic purchase in my eyes
Feels great to the touch, typing experience is nice. The programmable keys are helpful and I use them for launching common apps. The wrist rest is also a nice touch. All in all a premium product.
Chuffed to bits I finally have a sturdy solid functional wireless keyboard. Works great with my M1 Max Macbook Pro. But too heavy to be portable.
Now I want to write a book as typing is so comfortable. No flimsy feel about this and battery lasts a long time (weeks so far). Although the battery has lasted so long, I have not tested the charging cable yet!
So buzzing about this purchase. Why did I not get a wireless keyboard years ago? I was not sure if this would be worth the money but I feel it is. Only issue is now I want to buy a wireless trackpad! 😅
I'm a code - I simply want a full sized keyboard with all the keys in the right place; plug it in and it works but this is one of those keyboard that has to try and be everything all in one. It's keys are in the wrong places and it's function keys are where your SHIFT keys should be. Your F* keys don't work unless you hold down a FUNC key too. It's got 4 symbols on most keys and the actual keys themselves are clunky and hard to press.
It tries to do too many things and it fails at everything because it's not exceptional in any specific area.
Not for coders - mostly not for gamers and certainly not for anyone who wants a traditional keyboard with the keys where you expect them to be.
The typing on this keyboard is simply the best feel I have experienced on an external keyboard.
Very well built, heavy metal constriction screams quality. Super quiet keys. Used to hate working on my Mac in the office whilst my wife typed away at the old keyboard now its me getting kicked out the office because my apple keyboards too load. If you can afford it, buy it.......if you work loads of hours on a computer invest as its worth it
It’s the best keyboard I have brought. It’s tiny without the numeric keypad. It’s great for touch typist. It’s very tactile. There’s only one minor thing Logitech can improve this keyboard; one charge last about a month, that’s everyday word, excel, and PowerPoint uses.
So easy to install. Looks amazing with my computer and the keys feel amazing to type with. I have it partnered with a Logitech Mx 3s and it is perfect. Couldn’t be happier!
A+++
Keyboard is good in itself BUT. These keyboards have a lighting fault that Logitech know about but still keep manufacturing them regardless??? The back light will constantly keep lighting up every 10 secs all day and night, obviously draining the battery and is just annoying. If you contact them they are aware of the fault and just give you the run-around and won't replace faulty item even though it's under warranty.
I've been using logitech products for some time now. I loved the MX Keys, so i thought as i was in the market for a smaller keyboard, i'd give the MX keys mini ago.
To cut a long story short, dont bother buying if you plan on only connecting via Bluetooth (in windows). It was the most frustrating few days of my life trying to troubleshoot. In the end i gave up and purchased the MX master 3S to go along side the keyboard, but for most importantly, it comes with the new bolt reciever.
Its been fantastic to be honest. No more sporadic dissconnects. Solid experience so far.
I can honestly on recommend this keyboard, but only if you're either buying/already have the bolt reciever.
I got this keyboard because I like typing on my laptop and figured this would be a similar feel. It isn't bad for typing but just after a year of owning it, one of the keys has stopped functioning properly. It will some times not type when pressed and that's very poor for such an expensive keyboard.
I have the travel version of this keyboard, so thought it would be a good idea to order one to use at my desk.
However, although I really wanted to like this keyboard - and there is some great functionality built in - I couldn't get on with the really shallow keys/action, which made it really hard to locate keys by touch... Not a problem for normal typing, but it made accessing keyboard shortcuts really difficult.
For example, I didn't realise it before, but I use Ctrl + PgDown lots - on my standard keyboard, the keys fall really nicely to hand, but on the MX Keys, you have to hunt around for the right keys, and it just doesn't feel intuitive.
I had to return the keyboard, which was a shame as it is a nice unit, but unfortunately, not for me...
disappointing Logitech
mouse 3s and mx keys cant work with a same usb dongle.
extremely disappointing . big company, amazing products but shame they concentrated on businesses and dont care about rest of the buyers …
this is last thing i bought Logitech in my life .
