A comprehensive guide to interior design, this book covers the basics and provides practical advice for decorating homes and spaces. It offers tips on color theory, arranging furniture, and improving room acoustics, among other topics. While lacking in real-world photos, the book compensates with quality sketches. Suitable for beginners and those seeking a refresher, it is an aesthetically pleasing resource that teaches the principles of design and helps readers create beautiful and functional spaces.

So far good.
I am an architect student and I wanted this book as a rerun of the basics to keep my brain up to date but to also see any tips and tricks it may have. This book is definitely aesthetically pleasing to look at as well. The book is a high quality fabric hard cover and I like the layout and paper quality it has.
This is a great book to understand the basic rules of the interior design. When I design a space I do it based on my instinct but could never explain why the details I chose worked together until I read this book.
This book is a quick study of interior visual rules or tricks and has opened my eyes to a whole new consciousness about interior design.
I mostly bought this as a coffee table book but the content is just as good. Loads of useful tips and guides that help you elevate your design.
This book isn't about how to copy someone else's style. It will help you figure out how to make your style look beautiful in your home. Frida does this by teaching the principles of design and how they can be applied to different elements (lighting, rug size and placement, how to use patterns, arranging objects, the list goes on) in a way that reflects the tastes and preferences of the diy designer. A very helpful book.
Exactly what I needed to begin the reorganization and decoration of my house. So full of the basic rules for interior design. Easy to read and follow. From the golden mean to pillow and rug placement to curtains and decor- it gave me all the tools I needed to get started.
The book was interesting but not what I expected it to be and not super useful. Will be looking for other books about design.
All four sides of book and spine torn, ripped, and dented. Two books with no protection material in an oversized box causing books to move around and become damaged during. Very disappointed in the packaging of this book. I love the content of this book too bad it’s in poor shape.
I am a logical-brained person who doesn't know how to decorate a room. And this book taught me the rules of thumb that I needed to get started, and begin to understand what an interior designer thinks about to create a beautiful and functional home. It's a really interesting and great how-to book.
Just buy this book if you're on the fence. I'm in interior design in college and this is more understandable and detailed than my textbook.
This book is well-written and organized, easy to understand, covers virtually all the 'basics' of interior design - I found it quite useful, I think most anyone would benefit from the information. The book does NOT contain any photographs of home interiors/rooms- the illustrations that accompany the text are quality sketches (the book is printed in monochrome, not color). I think there are certain concepts that would more readily be explained by the diligent use of real room photos - this would help explain concepts such as 'negative space', anchoring and focal point. For a person like myself who has no formal training in home decorating this book is a great place to start; the principles laid out in the book apply to any decorating 'style', be it 'Traditional', 'Contemporary', Scandinavian, etc., etc. Overall a worthwhile purchase/ good value - 2 thumbs up!
I found it informative, easy to read, and well done.
I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to know more about how to decorate their homes. Author goes beyond providing pictures to explain how professionals look at interior decorating. Lots of great ideas that can be implemented by laypeople!
Unfortunately the book cover was pretty damaged when I received it. Huge bummer because the cover is so pretty. The contents of the book are really nice.
For someone just starting out doing interior design, this book compiles a solid amount of practical advice in a readable handbook. It full of content, rather than pictures, and also very readable. So far it is my favorite interior design book!
This is what you need if you are serious about interior design for homes and spaces and can only order one book...great value. A bit simplified but very vast and easy to understand.
First off, I love the content and I’m really enjoying reading it. I’m about 1/4 way through. I love the black and white sketches, but I am knocking one star off because it would be REALLY helpful if some real-world photos were included to demonstrate the principles. One example in the sketch is good - multiple real-world examples that were marked-up to demonstrate the principle would have been even better. Overall though, I looked far and wide for a book that would discuss the principles in easy to understand language, and this one is it. It’s extremely thorough from what I can tell. I was careful to choose the right book, and this one is it. Now I’m looking for a companion book that illustrates the principles as I’ve described- HEY, what a great idea for a VOLUME 2 of this book!
If you want to design a home, but you’re not sure how, this book will help. You will find the do’s and don’ts of design and great suggestions, to help you create what you’re looking for.
Rather than show a bunch of example photos (which might not work for your space), you’re given guidelines and general rules for interior design. Want an easy-to-understand primer on color theory? Need to hang a grouping of pictures? Not sure how to arrange still life on a table? Want to know which wall coverings will work well for *your* space? Which types of light work for your unique space? How can you improve a room’s acoustics? Save yourself the overwhelm looking for answers online (good luck with that) and just get this book. I only wish I had this book a couple decades ago when I was buying my first home and trying to make it look and feel “right”.
It's like interior design 101 for those of us who have a sense of style but need some parameters to express it more effectively. It is very useful no matter what your decorative style preferences are.
A beginners guide but not in a bad way, a guide that presents information that provides good reminders or foundational knowledge to have as a reference guide.
Haven’t read the whole book yet but a great resource on interior design
This is a fantastic book. I love interior design but I don’t always know what I’m doing haha. Can’t wait to implement some ideas I have with what I’ve learned within these pages. Highly, highly recommend!
I'm not done with the book yet but I'm really loving the first few chapters. I'm someone who can intuitively put a room together and make it look nice but I want more depth in my interior design and that's what this book is perfect for. It's informative without giving such specific examples of the fundamentals that would make it hard for some people to translate them in any other way than what the pictures show. She gives you enough information where you are learning but still have the freedom to incorporate the concepts in your own way. The people who complain about the book in past reviews are (mean in my opinion...) either well-versed in the fundamentals of interior design or need more of a hand-holding book that will give them a step-by-step on how to style a room. I personally want more out of my home than the run-of-the-mill Magnolia or McGee & Co. trendy feel and this book has helped me expand my creativity and refine my intuitive skills. Highly recommend!
Such an awesome book to educate yourself on the basics of design 10/10!
I like the book. The only issue I have had with it is the cover curled. I have not had it in sunlight or heat of any type. Not sure what's up with that.
I am teaching myself interior design and I wanted a book that easily explained the science behind it. This is more than just random tips and hacks. You will definitely learn interior design
Looks great on the coffee table and also taught me a lot as someone who is interested in interior design. Shared many of the tips I read with friends and family. Would recommend if you are interested in learning some of the basics of home design and/or need a good coffee table book.
This is just a compilation of blogposts into a book. Calling it "Interior Design" is a bit pretentious, a better title would have been "decoration tips".

This collection of children's stories by Mena Z is disappointing due to the lack of color illustrations, typos, and poor quality. The small text size and black and white illustrations make it unattractive for young readers. The stories are short and suitable for young children, but the overall presentation and design need improvement.

BioShock Remastered Collection is a must-have for fans of the franchise. The game is beautifully done and provides just as much fun as the original release. It is an inexpensive purchase that allows players to enjoy the game without the need for a monthly subscription. With no issues and a brand new disc, this game is perfect for Xbox X. BioShock is a highly enjoyable and timeless game that will not disappoint.

This Bluetooth headset received mixed reviews from customers with some praising its good quality, comfort, and clarity while others complained about its durability, charging issues, and poor sound. Despite its affordability, it failed to impress some users who found it uncomfortable, bulky, and hard to connect. The biggest takeaways from the reviews were the headset's good value for money, compatibility with various devices, and decent battery life.
