i arrived late in the evening, the room was clean, and the bed was good, the next day I had breakfast and that was Whoaw, fruits, fresh orange juice, really nice buffet. well the bad thing is that they don't have enought electric plugs in the room and its quite oldish but great if you want to take the bus to the airport( 200m from the hotel) and there are some nice restaurants around and a shopping mall.
Was possibly lovely in the 90s when it was built, but it’s old tired and out of date, rude reception staff, only 3 glasses in bar, could piss harder than shower, no tea or coffee in room, everything is old and tatty, good breakfast spread but no help worth getting breakfast, all hot food was cold, anyone who says this is a good hotel must work here, world be perfect for 25 euros a night
Don't come here in the summer as the air conditioning doesn't work. Rooms are absolutely roasting. Car park charges are not motorcycle friendly most are free. Reasonable location but dodgy area. Be careful...
Staff at hotel were lovely and very helpful but the hotel is in need of an internal makeover. It's a bit dated and shabby. However we found the hotel very clean. breakfast was nice and the location was excellent as train station just across from hotel
The Rotterdam shower had a non slip floor, the one in Charleroi did not and it felt slippery - did not feel too safe when entering or leaving. Breakfast fine, reception fine but with only one person manning reception and the bar simultaneously it dsid not seem very efficient.
Great Hotel on the River, very close to everything, it looks was exceptionally hot during my stay, 45C+ and the air conditioner in the room was fantastic. Excellent staff, the young lady at the front desk was exceptionally helpful and very friendly.
Location is very good, near the train station but too much noise in the hallway (sound insolation issue). The superior room is simple, nothing special but the quality of the mattress is good. Overall, the price per night (100 €) is too expensive for the quality. At least the breakfast should be included.
Hotel is situated opposite to Charleroi Sud Railway Station..after you cross the river over bridge. Stay wise is good..rooms are clean.. we had breakfast includes that was approx 14.5 € n worth..do hav your breakfast their only..else you will suffer having a full breakfast anywhere else. rooms are small compared to the same tariff I paid for Ibis Hotel Center Gare Brussels.. wifi is not smoothly connected n fast... overall good experience.
What is really good about this hotel, the "taxi shuttle" just for 17 € from Charleroi airport :)The hotel has a very good location, just next to the railway station a and a shopping mall :)Very nice breakfast and female staff is very helpful, can't say that about the male staff, as the hotel bar should be 24 hours but only when there are females at the reception as they also serve the drinks... :-/
The staff were friendly and we managed a quiet night with no disturbance despite having to keep the window open as the air conditioning had broken down. We had a poor view though over a car park so I guess it might have been noisy at the front. Good value, breakfast ok but orange squeezing machine did not operate well. If the air con had worked it would have been fine but as it did not it was stifling.

Despite some issues with key access, service, and menu inconsistencies, the Bastion hotel offers clean and decent rooms with friendly and helpful staff. The location is not ideal for city attractions and public transport is limited. However, the hotel provides good value for money with spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and a nice breakfast. The hotel's maintenance and cleanliness could be improved.
