Lovely boutique hotel in the colonial district good food friendly staff however advertised as a having an exercising room/gym is not factually true.Anyone wishing to keep their fitness regime going will be dissatisfied as the room consists of two antiquated machines , treadmill & bike both of which do not function plus an old weight stack. A minor problem to most but when advertising a facility it should be fit for purpose !
Amarelindo is located in the perfect place if you want to fully absorb the magic of Salvador/Pelourinho. When staying at the hotel, you will leave feeling rich with culture, history, join, and a new prospect of what matters in life. It is amazing the restoration of the building. The owners have done a great job when building the hotel. Small things that you don't get in most hotels in Brazil, they made sure to provide. Simple things such as: fan in the bathroom, kleenex, electric water kettle, coffee maker. Believe or not many hotels in Brazil do not offer those amenities. Amerindo is definitely a hotel for international travellers. However, one huge disappointment. Prior from arriving at the hotel, I had a stomach bug, I have had anything to eat for 3 days. The night we arrived it was raining. My husband and I decided to experience the hotel restaurant, We order 2 main dishes. Again, it was storming outside and we had a 9mos baby with us plus an 11ys old. I ask to buy just a plain potato without seasoning. I explained that I had a huge stomach ache and a fever. Also, I share with the waitress that I was weak due to inability to hold any food in my stomach for over 3 days. The hotel declied exceptions. I was informed that they only sale what is in the menu. Again, we were already paying for 2 main dishes and were stay at the hotel. I begged for some plain veggies, The waitress said that I could order a meal with mashed potatoes, but I had to order the whole plate. I asked if the chef could cook the mashed potatoes without seasoning. AGAIN, THE HOTEL DECLINED, regardless of the situation . I left with the impression that the owners are extremely strict and don't allow employees to provide services when needed, if it is outside of their rules. Well.... the plain potato declined by the hotel, after I begged for it, made us look for other restaurants for the rest of our trip. We made sure NOT to eat at the hotel. We found amazing restaurants nearby willing to open exceptions. So if you have any food restrictions, even if you are ill. The hotel will not work with you. Beside the disappointment with policies. The staff was amazing, very friendly and warm. One observation, I noticed the hotel didn't have female employees. Even the housekeeping team was all men. I hope that is not another policy. Men only. …
Beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Salvador. The service was above and beyond, the owner greeted us at check in and check out. Staff were friendly and helpful, assisting in arranging tours and transportation and always being available for general questions. The rooms and hotel are beautifully decorated. The rooms are soundproof, which is great. Restaurant in the hotel was delicious. Location is ideal, and I won't stay anywhere else on return trips.
Exceptional staff service and welcome form the owner who gave us accurate advice and suggestions, including organising a tour for us. The decor and facilities were great, a swimming pool, roof terrace and dining room that serves not only delicious healthy breakfasts but is also a restaurant and bistro during the day and night. It has a good mix of local and international dishes are available. The bed in our room was the biggest I have seen, and comfy too. Highly recommend this well located hotel.
So charming. Located mere steps from anything you want to see in the Pelourinho (historic aka postcard neighborhood). The staff was very communicative the moment we booked our hotel on a third-party site. Cans and Ubers are not allowed to go straight to the hotel, so we booked transportation from the airport with the hotel. The first time I ever had my name on a placard as I arrived at the airport. The car was very nice, an SUV of some type that dropped us at the front door. Ubers and cabs are allowed to drop off nearby, but cobblestone streets can be difficult to navigate with luggage. The lobby is very simple but oozes charm. Check in was a breeze with us already doing so via email. We liked walking up and down the stairs, but some may not and there's no elevator. Room 3 on the scene floor was very spacious! The bed was almost the size of 2 king beds pushed together. A/C was very cold and to our liking. The wood floor was worn but very clean. The bathroom was the size of the 2 hotels we stayed at in Rio combined. The shower was larger with 4, yes 4!!!!, different shower heads. Handheld. Vertical, waterfall and rainfall big enough to rinse a baby elephant. The pool was small but nice with great views, the same great view from our balcony. We encountered many different staff members throughout our stay, and they were all amazing. If it had one downside, one single bottle of water per stay.…
Casa do Amarelindo was a beautiful small hotel located in the heart of the scenic old city. The location could not be better. The staff were fantastic and always attentive and willing to help us. Luis at the front desk arranged many of our tours and made us feel right at home. The breakfast was wonderful, with a great staff, served in their beautiful restaurant area. The rooftop pool is perfect for an afternoon dip after touring. The room was perfect - clean, quiet and had everything we needed. This is a special small boutique hotel that makes for a perfect base for your adventures in the old city of Salvador! Highly recommended!
The Hotel Amarelindo is the perfect place to stay in Salvador. It is located in the center, however it is quiet to sleep. The reception speaks english and is very kind and helpful. The rooms are nice, very clean and the beds very confortable and big. The smal pool is cosy, refreshing and perfect after a hot day of excursion. The restaurant is highly recommended for dinner. Breakfast was also wonderful. This house is certainly a very good choice.
Three night stay in standard room. Charming boutique hotel in centre of old city. Warm welcome. Friendly attentive staff. Continental breakfast included with additional options. Restaurant menu caters for most tastes. Good food and reasonably priced. Soundproofed room with powerful a.c, comfortable bed. We both slept well. Felt v safe in locale, well policed. Most tourist sights within easy walking distance. Highly recommended and would stay again. Note that minibar items are chargeable including bottled water but there is a supermarket three mins walk from the hotel. Access by car is limited in the narrow cobbled streets so arriving and leaving requires a short walk to the main square. Not a problem unless one has significant mobility issues. Although reception staff spoke good English this was not so in the restaurant but we managed to make ourselves understood. The views from the pool and the sea view rooms are outstanding. …
The Casa do Amarelindo is a very nice boutique hotel located on a pedestrian street in the heart of the historic Pelourinho section of Salvador. We stayed 7 nights at the end of January in a deluxe room with a balcony and a view of the bay. The room was extremely comfortable with an enormous bed and an excellent bathroom. The included breakfast was very good and was served to us, rather than being a buffet style. We also had dinner a couple of nights at the hotel's restaurant, which was delicious. Everyone working at the hotel was very friendly, cheerful and helpful. To reach the hotel, we had the hotel send a driver to pick us up at the airport and take us straight to the hotel. This worked out very well and we used the same service when we left. We loved our stay at Casa do Amarelindo and the next time we go to Salvador we'll stay there again.…
This boutique hotel is top class in every detail. The staff are helpful, informed and warm. The owner greets each guest upon arrival. The decor is beautiful. My room was amazing—huge, comfortable bed with high quality linens, a gorgeous view of the bay with a terrace, a spa shower, and reliable wifi. The included breakfast is extensive and available at any time of day. The delicious fruit plate and champagne upon arrival was a delight. The location was incredible albeit only accessible by authorized taxi (Ubers need to drop you off 2 blocks away, which is fine during the day but less practical after 10pm). Definitely recommend! Definitely recommend!
We stayed at Hotel Casa do Amarelindo, Salvador during the Christmas holidays. We are truly happy with our choice of hotels. It is ideally centrally located close to a lot of historical sites and Downtown. Gilles and Didier are superbly warm, welcoming hosts and very responsible hotel owners. P.S.: Give a little petting to Nikita, your beautiful dog for us. They made our stay very enjoyable. The hotel is nicely decorated inside. Our room was very clean and comfortable with a relaxing view. The meals were excellent, tasty and fresh, with a large menu to choose from, including the wine list. The dessert was so yummy, especially the Tiramisu. The staff were excellent in providing great First Class Customer Service and very accommodating. We highly recommend this charming Hotel.…
Hotel Casa Do Amarelindo is a marvelous boutique hotel in the heart of Pelourinho. We stayed over New Years. The hotel is lively, bight and open to nature, mixing modern style with antiques and local crafts. The owners go out of the way to make the guest feel welcome, as if you are staying at their home and not a hotel. The staff was attentive, and knew how to make guests feel safe and comfortable to see the sights. Food was awesome, French haute cuisine meets Bahia afro-Brazilian cooking. There was something for everyone on the menu even kids. The location was great in the heart of the tourist district near all of the attractions and shopping in Pelo, but the beach is a hike. However, the staff will get you a cab driven by someone known and vetted so you are well taken care of.…
Brilliant hotel. First class service, with such helpful staff. Follow their recommendations and you will be totally safe in Pelourinho. The hotel is beautifully decorated and has lots of little corners and sofas where you can sit and soak up the atmosphere. And the beds were so comfortable. We had a bay view room which I recommend. Thanks everyone, I hope to be back :)
Everything about this small hotel is a pleasure---the staff, the restaurant, the terrace views, and the pool. Breakfast was wonderful, dinners were lovely, wonderful well-priced wine list, and stylish rooms and public spaces.
We would like to thank Didier, Gilles (and of course Nikita) for their amazing hospitality during our 6 night stay in their stunning hotel, which was superbly restored by them. All the staff were very attentive and helpful - nothing was too much for them. Our room had a stunning view over the town to the bay. It could not have been more comfortable, with the most enormous bed, and a superb shower and bathroom. We ate in the hotel restaurant 3 times and had the best food we had in our 3 week trip to Brazil. We thoroughly recommend this beautiful hotel.
The service at the beautiful boutique hotel is the best I have ever experienced. The rooms are clean and beautiful decorated. The staff is amazing. A special thank you to Rafael, Luis and Paolo for making our stay extra amazing. I would highly recommend Hotel Casa do Amarelindo. It really and truly is amar and lindo.
Our experience here was fantastic - from the comfortable accommodations to our meals at Pelo Bistro, we truly enjoyed ourselves at Casa do Amarelindo. The staff provided excellent service, especially Uiliames in the restaurant, one of our favorite dishes was the Ceviche Atún. We enjoyed the local sculptures and other artwork on display- very intriguing and magical! Thank you, we will be back.
From the moment of arrival, this is really first class service. Guests are shown around the hotel, which is a truly beautiful building, very tastefully decorated. There is a lovely relaxed atmosphere and the public areas are very classy indeed. Bedrooms are gorgeous with excellent facilities. Superb luxury showers in an enormous private bathroom really felt like a treat. Some lovely touches too, including robes and a nice selection of bathroom products. The restaurant is lovely and the food very good. The caipirinhas are wonderful! It seemed important to try several flavours. Great to have table service for a great breakfast that is included in the price. My only slight criticism is the cost of basics in the room minibar. For example, 9 BRL for a small bottle of water when they are being sold for 1.5 BRL in the shop one street away. Hotels of this sort of quality often give at least 1 small bottle of water a day free of charge in any case. Leaving aside this minor quibble , this hotel is a place firmly founded on traditional ideas of service. Staff cannot do enough for you. It’s the best hotel I have stayed in during my stay in Brazil.…
Excellent. Very personal and helpful service. Our daughters were unwell and the staff were very helpful. Super restaurant. Incredibly accommodating staff throughout. Loads of character in the building. Highly recommended. Brilliant location in the heart of things.
We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. Great breakfast, Clean room with nice amenities. Staff very helpful and accommodating and we felt safe. The team went out of their way to assist us. The location is also very nice and we took advantage of the car service and tour through the hotel which was awesome. Thank you all for a wonderful experience.
Beautiful and comfortable hotel. The Service was excellent! Great staff! Thank you so much to all of you. The food and drinks were great and delightfully served. We highly recommend this hotel. Ana and David
Casa do Amarelindo is a wonderful boutique hotel located in the center of Pelourinho in Salvador, Bahia. We got two rooms with terraces with a view of the bay. Breakfast was also very good and it is served ‘all day’, which was fantastic as we arrived very late on our first night. I’m not giving it 5 stars for two reasons: (i) we arrived at 2 am and the street where the hotel is located was closed - we had to walk 2 blocks in a dangerous neighborhood with 7 bags and no one from the hotel came up to help; and (ii) the hotel charges for Nespresso coffee - which is not on line for a hotel of this level.
My husband and I went to Hotel casa do amerlindo for a week. All was perfect . The staff and the owners are just here for you. They gave us a lot of good advices and planed anything we wished with success :trips taxis etc . We highly recommend to stay in this hotel if you want to have an unique experience just in the heart of Salvador. Swimming pool and late breakfasts were a plus. Merci !
It was already our second stay in this hotel. This time we spent 15 days there. From arriving in the hotel until the departure we experienced an incredible good service by the whole hotel stuff. The room was large, lovely decorated in afro-brasilien style and spotless clean, especially the large bathroom. We enjoyed the beautifull view from the balcony on the bay. Although the hotel has only 10 rooms, it is equipped with a littly gym and an outdoor pool which provides an infinity-like feeling when you are swimming. Most important, the hotel has an excellent restaurant, which - in our opinion - is the best in Pelourinho. We highly recommend all travellors to Salvador to stay a little bit longer than only 2 or 3 days in Casa do Amarelindo, because this provides you the…
We’ve spent one night in Salvador, before going to Boipeba, and this hotel was the perfect choice for us: right in the center of the Pelourinho, surrounded by good restaurants and bars. The staff at the hotel was absolutely great, always helpful and full of good tips! Breakfast was just as good as the rest and there is even a pool if you have time for it :) Arnaud & Paloma
We had an amazing stay at the Hotel Casa do Amarelindo and loved every single detail of it -the beautiful decoration of the room and the bed size, the healthy food, cakes, juices and fruit offered as breakfast, the location in the heart of the Pelourinho … absolutely everything!! The staff was super welcoming and friendly and they even arranged transfer from/to airport for us. All in all a memorable stay… wish we would have had more days in Salvador and we will no doubt stay here again if we have the chance to revisit this beautiful city!!
· Amazing hotel. Wonderful, friendly staff. Main reception person always had great English which was useful for us. Very helpful coordinating arrival, departure and providing advise on sightseeing. The room was massive with great shower and amazing views of the bay. Loved the location as well in Pelourinho- lots of fun things happening directly in downtown which was easy for us to walk to and we took Uber or taxi whenever we needed to visit another neighborhood. Breakfast was included and was delicious - coffee, fruit, bread, yogurt, eggs. Would 100% stay here again.
C’est super! Such a great boutique hotel in the heart of Pelourinho, this french run hotel is absolutely charming. The staff is well trained and welcoming, the restaurant has both brazilian and french dishes, my room overlooking the Baia de Todos os Santos was awesome, huge, comfortable and even quiet - which is a blessing as you are in the middle of all the action and the batucada groups take noisely to the streets every now and then but it was usually quiet after 10 pm. Would definitely stay here should I come to Salvador. Highly recommended.
I was born in Salvador, Bahia, but I have been out for many years. For celebrating my 60 years, I wanted to go back to my roots, and make a beautiful boat trip in All Saints Bay with life friends. In taking care of the details for a so special moment for me, I made the choice to be at Casa do Amarelindo with my family, from where I could see All Saints Bay as soon as I waked up. A Casa do Amarelindo is a charming hotel with a very kind staff. It is located in Pelourinho, at the historical centre of Salvador. The rooms are large and comfortable. The hotel has also a very nice restaurant, where a good breakfast is served. I have really appreciated it. It was a great stay in a very special occasion.
We had a wonderful experience at Casa do Amarelindo. The location could not have been better, right in the heart of Pelourinho and walking distance to everything we wanted to see. The hotel itself was beautifully restored and designed. Our room had a view of the city and the pool and plenty of space to sit outside and watch the sunset. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room and upgraded bathroom were both very large. Breakfast was overly ample with a large assortment of options - fruit, yogurt, cakes, eggs, tapiocas, breads, geleia, fresh fruit juice, and coffee and tea options. The staff were very friendly and helpful! I would highly recommend and will stay here again when back in Salvador.

Visiting Times Square is a unique experience, but it can be overwhelming due to the crowds, scammers, and the smell of weed. It's recommended to visit early in the morning or at night when it's less crowded. The area is full of billboards, street performers, and plenty of food and drink options. However, it's important to stay aware of the scammers, who offer to take photos for high fees. Despite its drawbacks, Times Square remains an iconic spot in the heart of NYC and a must-see for tourists.
