The Big 3s:
Ambience: unique, shoeless, rushed, adjacent, cramped, fun, clean, dark, fusion
Service: dexterous and deft, attentive, slightly rushed
Food: exquisite and we'd return for EVERY SINGLE dish we had, both over and over
Tremendous in all respects. Our server was very knowledgeable, very friendly and provided excellent suggestions. The choices were not your regular, and then boom BAP or Bulgogi but we had some other types of Korean delicacies that were delicious. Really enjoyed my meal and time at Hangawi in NYC. Great atmosphere, friendly and fast service and the food was delicious. I love the simple flavors of the food but yet so so yummy!
We loved every second: from removing shoes to super fast payment. Food is great, very fast waiter. Authentic experience
Korean food is all the rage now and we figured what better way is there to experience it than at a Korean Vegan restaurant, so we were all in. Hangawi is very unique as upon arriving you are asked to remove your shoes and put...them in bowling alley type slots and then you proceed to your table where you sit on a platform allowing your legs and feet to hang down into an opening. The wait staff all wear slippers so this is certainly come one come all! Make sure you wear socks! We did not have to use the restroom but if you do I imagine you might want to retrieve your shoes! As a vegan restaurant there is quite a large menu and it is mushroom heavy, but they are happy to make modifications as needed (while of course remaining vegan). We ordered the HanGawi Stonebowl, the GF HanGawi Stonebowl, Spicy Chili Mushrooms and ssam bab (lettuce wraps with three kinds of rice). We mostly shared the entrees between three of us and loved the food and service. The HanGawi Bowls are served hot with the veggies and then the waitstaff mixes in the rice live for you at the table when served. We enjoyed the interactions as well as all of the food. It was a fun dinner experience and we would certainly dine here again.More them in bowling alley type slots and then you proceed to your table where you sit on a platform allowing your legs and feet to hang down into an opening. It was very difficult to get reservations. But we had a wonderful meal in a very nice ambience. It was a very busy place. The drinks were not as great as their descriptions. The food was very flavorful. The spicy dumplings and the sushi were...our favorites. The service was quite prompt. Somewhat pricy.More our favorites. The service was quite prompt. Somewhat pricy.
Really amazing Korean food. The environment is cozy and harmonious. And the staff is making you feel taken care of. No problem with dietary issues. A great place to celebrate a wedding anniversary at!
Food is good (we took the 75$ fix price menu), but definitely overpriced for what you get.
Nice idea that to remove shoes, but getting to the toilet, even with the slippers provided, is a threatening experience.
Restaurant walls require an urgent painting: too dirty....So overall a negative experience.More So overall a negative experience.
We chose this restaurant for a pre theatre meal because 2 of our party of 4 were vegetarian. We tried a ton of different appetizers and main dishes and not one disappointed. Outstanding restaurant, with a lovely quiet atmosphere and wonderful food. The prix fixe menu for 4 of us was wonderful, each course a delight with very attentive service and a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Everything was just outstanding! Did the Prix Fixe menu and loved all dishes. Ordinarily, when one thinks of Korean food, you think meat and heat. This place captures the Buddhist cuisine of Korea. And, they knock it out of the park on atmosphere. Imagine my...surprise on a cold and rainy night to place my feet in the sunken foot well and experience the heated floor! I would have liked hotter kimchi and don’t know if it is available. Will figure it out on next visit.More surprise on a cold and rainy night to place my feet in the sunken foot well and experience the heated floor! Lovely atmosphere: I love removing shoes and eating at a low table. The food is lovely: we had some of the seasonal roots imported from Korea. Very fresh and tasty. The menu was thoughtful and plates beautifully presented. The service was attentive and kind. In...normal times the atmosphere is fantastic but in covid times it’s worth knowing that The tables are NOT spaced from one another and the space is pretty airless and tightly packed so not great for covid distancing. We were sitting right next to another party and because of the low tables the waiters have to reach down and right over you to serve.More normal times the atmosphere is fantastic but in covid times it’s worth knowing that The tables are NOT spaced from one another and the space is pretty airless and tightly packed so not great for covid distancing. In line with their zen-esque style, this place offers the guilt-free food with your imagination being its only flavor.
I was there for a late dinner with my husband and we both found the dishes we ordered very tasty . You need to take your shoes off and you sit in a low table in cushions. The tables are very close to each other,...so not a Greg’s choice if you are looking for something more private. The neighborhood is lively and full of Korean style street food. I went with my wife. We're both vegans and Hangawi was paradise for us. There are so many options that makes it very hard to decide what to have. I had delivered home this tofu steak and i find out it's fried only when it arrived. I can't eat fried stuff, so i removed the crispy part and partially ate the tofu, without any specific taste.
6 average triangles of tofu 30 dollars.
Walked in with my vegan daughter with no reservation... and they found us a table. It was the special one near the entrance. So we did not need to remove our shoes, unlike all customers.

Such a fantastic meal! Make sure to try anything from the seasonal menu. Upon leaving, I heard other guests say they didn't miss the meat. Left full and satisfied.
Lovely traditional Korean interior. Very varied an delicious vegan food! Huge and imaginative menu - plenty of kimvhi if you like things spicy but also plenty of other not so spicy items. The stone bowl rice dishes were very tasty.
We didn’t realise this was a vegan restaurant but oh so glad we went in- the food was divine!!!! Atmosphere lovely but very popular so had to wait for a while to get a table- but it was definitely worth the wait!!!!! Highly recommend!

Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in Miami is an impressive historical estate that is worth a visit. The 70-room villa and estate was built between 1914 and 1923 at a cost of $15 million by businessman James Deering. The Italianate mansion is spectacular with numerous displays, and the surrounding 50-acre gardens are stunning. The gardens were designed to incorporate nature, which is apparent as visitors stroll through the formal gardens and the informal gardens. A guided tour of the house is recommended, and the audio tour provides great descriptions of the extensive property.
