We really enjoyed our recent stay at the French Quarter Inn. Kim at the hotel was wonderful. She was very genuine and friendly and was super helpful. She even managed to be able to upgrade our room and having an outdoor space was appreciated and enjoyable. All the complimentary food provided by the hotel was delicious. The cookies at night were a great treat. My husband loved the pillow menu because he always has such issues with hotel pillows and this gave him some options. The hotel is incredibly clean and comfortable for a great stay! The only comment I could make to those exploring hotel options was that we are a couple in our late 30s and the hotel’s demographic (at least when we were there midweek in May) was primarily an older crowd. I don’t think we saw anyone our age. We still had a great experience but wanted to mention this to those who may be looking for a different hotel vibe. Overall, we will definitely recommend and consider a future stay here next time we are in Charleston.…
This is a great hotel to stay in to visit historic Charleston. Very friendly staff and impeccable service. We stayed for two nights and would have no hesitation in returning. The evening wine, charcuterie and cheese reception was excellent (as was the sparkling wine on arrival). Our King Suite room was spotlessly clean and very quiet. Charleston is an expensive place to visit and the French Quarter Inn is an expensive hotel but worth it in comparison to others nearby.
I have stayed at the French Quarter Hotel many times. The experience never disappoints!! The staff is professional, friendly, and always helpful. I love the happy hour and the wonderful breakfast. The location is perfect- right in the heart of Charleston. I recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Charleston.
The staff, room, and amenities were outstanding. The room was cleaned daily, and checked by staff twice a day. The breakfast and cocktail hour were outstanding. The valet, housekeeping staff, and staff were very helpful and friendly.
We loved our visit to Charleston. Such a great city. The city's history and food are outstanding. The French Quarter Inn was very nice. Good breakfast, good rooms, nice happy hour, and nice staff. However, the hotel, including its furnishings, is a bit tired. To warrant its price and its reviews a bit of TLC is needed.
We have been staying at FQI for over 4 years and always cannot wait to go back. It’s like going home to visit family and we are treated like family. We are greeted by name, and awesome smiles. The team knows our family and always wants updates on everyone. They always go above and beyond and know our needs. This goes from the bellman to to front desk to food and beverage and housekeeping. The staff is amazing, the food is perfect, the rooms are beautiful and very comfortable and you cannot beat the location. The service is over the top and we are always sad to leave.
Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated. Lots of space to store clothing. Loved the silky feeling sheets and plenty of fluffy towels as well as bath amenities. Charming patio off lobby area with tables and chairs to enjoy all the many food and drink options provided throughout the day including breakfast, hot and cold beverages, wine and cheese (way above the average served in other inns), topped off with hot cookies and milk before bed. The inn is located within walking distance of many fine restaurants. The front desk staff is wonderful. Felt like a vacation with all the comforts of home.
I like staying at beautiful gracious hotels and after a wonderful stay, I add this to my list of all time greats. Stunningly beautiful. Very well located. Extremely helpful staff. The extra amenities were amazing - Champagne at check-in, wonderful breakfast food served at your room or buffet style, seating anytime in the courtyard, pre-dinner wine and light food were excellent. I loved fresh baked chocolate chip cookies and milk before bed. Vacation is a great time to indulge and this hotel is a wonderful place to indulge. Our double queen room was large and beautiful. I think that I saw some complaints about rooms in previous reviews. They seem to have many classes of rooms and they are well described on the web-site. But I also called and spoke to a very friendly and helpful person to pick my room. Charleston is a great walking town. And the hotel was nicely located for taking a break in the middle of the day. …
Super cute boutique hotel. Great stay and would highly recommend it. The champagne at arrival was great. The breakfast was wonderful and delivered to our room complimentary. The location was also great within walking distance to everything.
The location couldn’t be more convenient, in the heart of everything you want to do. But it’s the details that made our stay so special. Warm hospitality from all staff from the moment we arrived and were greeted with a flute of champagne. Soft music welcomes us in our room. The bath products are local and fabulous. Turn down service with Astor chocolates and a can of still water. Ordered our room service breakfast that was fabulous. The pastries were as good as those in Paris! Warm cookies in the evening to enjoy while relaxing on a chaise on the balcony overlooking a historic church steeple while live music plays softly somewhere in the Quarter. A little candy bar and beverages always available in the lobby. There’s even wine and charcuterie in the late afternoon. Can’t wait…
We spent seven days at the French Quarter Inn in Charleston, right in the center of the French Quarter. Exceptional hotel, with some special daily events, like wine and cheese at 5:30, cookies at 8:00, tasty food and wine. Drinks are available all day with a beautiful terrace open for breakfast if you so choose. Walking distance to everything in the historic district. Friendly people in all positions, very accommodating. Great place to stay in Charleston.
We have been to Charleston several times and loved this hotel and will be returning. Loved the glass of champagne upon arrival and the balcony of the room was awesome! The breakfast delivered to the room was a very nice addition! We will Definitley stay here again!
The hotel is beautiful and well situated and has great food but best of all are the dedicated and wonderful people who work there. They went above and beyond to help us care for our 5 month old baby.
Our stay was ALMOST perfect- the bellhop working was very helpful, the housekeepers who cleaned our room did a fantastic job, and we really enjoyed the free receptions every day. When we got to the hotel and went to the front desk, the gentleman who checked us in kept coughing on us without covering his mouth which was unnerving. We arrived in Charleston a little later in the evening and we asked him for dinner recommendations when we checked in but he told us to either go to the bar across the street or google something else on our own, then complained about a lack of tip for his "help" when he thought we were out of earshot- not a great start to our stay. We stayed at this hotel a while back and the "concierge" service was so much better. We did really enjoy breakfast the…
Our favorite hotel is the French Quarter Inn. It is beautiful, comfortable, and clean. The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay wonderful. The breakfast, wine and appetizer hour, and cookies and milk hour are fantastic. All three are included with your stay. It is a must stay hotel.
A getaway weekend in Charleston was special in every way, and the French Quarter Inn proved to be one of the highlights of the experience. A lovely venue in a perfect location, the hotel exceeded our expectations. The staff was attentive, friendly and helpful. Our room, a deluxe king, was comfortable and clean. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, and the afternoon wine and cheese spread was great after a busy day of sightseeing. We enjoyed sitting on the lovely terrace with a drink. Best of all were the homemade cookies before bedtime. I should reiterate the hotel’s attractiveness for its location. We walked everywhere - never had to get in a vehicle the entire time. We hope to visit again someday.
Our stay at the French Quarter Inn was amazing. Upon checking in we were given a glass of sparkling wine. The room was so clean, comfortable and beautiful. They have turn down service, an evening wine and cheese social and a nighttime cookies and milk social. They were very attentive and eager to make this a special stay for us.
We recently stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in a deluxe room. The hotel is in an excellent position for tourists, is extremely well maintained and has friendly professional staff. We were in a Deluxe room and in hindsight should have selected a more expensive room type to get access to fresh air.
French Quarter Inn is sublime--quiet, elegant, customer services oriented. We had great concierge service, so helpful and informative. Loved the look and feel of the FQI, detailed but not over the top. There was a huge variety offload and drink for breakfast and the cocktail hour. The location is perfect for walking around Charleston and seeing the sites. Highly Recommended !
Luxurious bedding and towels. Walking distance to attractions. Responsive valet, knowledgeable staff. Wished they restocked food during receptions more often. We had to wait a bit at breakfast. Room was spotless and relaxing. Loved our stay.
Enjoyed a wonderful 4-day stay here. Immaculately clean and comfortably appointed rooms - plush robes, high quality toiletries, refrigerator, safe, etc. Fabulous breakfast, wine & cheese hour, and bedtime cookies & milk all included. Great location within walking distance or quick Uber ride pretty much anywhere you want to go in the city. Can't say enough good things about the staff. From the valet to the front desk and especially the housekeeping staff, everyone was polite and gracious without exception. We will definitely stay here again next time we're in Charleston!
If you are looking for the perfect place to stay in Charleston, look no further. Everything about the French Quarter Inn is superb. The bedrooms are large with all the expected amenities. The staff is well trained, warm and friendly and eager to help. The public areas are classy and comfortable, and the location (a short half block from the City Market) is walk able to just about any desired restaurant or site. We loved our stay at the French Quarter Inn and look forward to returning soon.
Perfect location and nice hotel, but what really made the stay was the wonderful staff and all the amenities! Everyone was so helpful and nice (special thanks to Jenny and Serena at the front desk). We loved the complimentary morning breakfast that they would deliver to your room and the lovely spread for the evening happy hour. Our room was upgraded and beautiful!
My Granddaughter and I stayed at the French Quarter Inn during our recent visit to Charleston. The hotel was impeccable - the suite was beautiful, the staff was warm and welcoming, and the amenities were outstanding. We will definitely stay here again on our next Charleston visit.
Hospitality at its finest! We feel like VIP’s every time we visit. I am sure all the guests who stay there would say the same. Jennys knowledge of Charleston and the Inn is absolutely incredible! Cheers to you FQI and your staff! Charlestons best🥂🥂
One of the best hotels we've visited. Beautiful building with amazing decorations. The service was flawless. The entire staff was attentive, friendly, and welcoming. The early evening happy hour with hors d oeuvres was a highlight of each day and provided a time to mingle with other guests and share tips about the city's attractions and restaurants. Warm cookies in the late evening were a treat after a day of sightseeing. The included breakfast varied somewhat from day to day and was delicious. The hotel will even bring a hot breakfast to your room, if you wish, at no additional charge. The location was amazing. Almost every place we wanted to visit was within walking distance. History is literally right around every corner in Charleston. We will no doubt visit the city again,…
Fabulous stay. Rooms are lovely, impeccably clean, staff are friendly and attentive. Amenities really set this inn apart from other hotels in the same price range: champagne on arrival, excellent breakfast, wine and cheese reception and my personal favorite, cookies and milk in the evening. Lobby is quiet and inviting, tastefully decorated. I would absolutely stay here again and give it my highest recommendation. Don't change a thing!
We loved our stay. The beds, maid service, treats and overall attention to detail is excellent. They do need to be mindful that same sex couples may be reserving a room. Our welcome emails were all addressed to Mr and Mrs. When we checked in my husband was told that his guest must be registered. Heterosexual couples would not be told that.
The French Quarter Inn lived up to its five star status. The inn was both elegant and friendly and very close to restaurants, shops and galleries. Breakfast is served every morning from 7:30-10:30 in the beautiful lobby or the outdoor courtyard. The staff is eager to please and efficient. We had a problem in our room that was attended to immediately. It is an easy walk to E. Bay Street and yet secluded and quiet. We will definitely come back in the near future.
Took my mom here last year for our first visit to Charleston. She hasn't stopped raving about it in almost a year. Lord the cookies and happy hour. Within walking distance to everything. I do feel the rooms need updated.

Doyle bar is a popular and trendy hotel bar located at Dupont Circle in DC. Visitors praise the atmosphere and decor, with its mid-century modern style and cozy seating options. The bar stocks a wide range of Irish whiskey and offers creative cocktails and delicious snacks. The excellent service from professional and personable bartenders like Andre and Brian, as well as attentive waitstaff like Kierra, gets consistent praise. While some find the prices high, the location and quality make it a worthwhile choice for an evening out with friends or as a hotspot for professional meetings.
