  • Why your business absolutely needs this book

There are many reasons why I like this book. To this it must also be said that I bought it in paperback, which is part of the very good and inspiring experience. The book is more than the average business how-to or management book. Here is my personal reflection on why you probably need it:

1.Your company is limited in growth and feels the rapid change in the market.

There is probably no better time for this book. New customer needs, a changing geopolitical landscape, and game-changing technologies everywhere you look. The timing has never been better to offer new and unique value propositions to customers. As traditional and vertically integrated companies are unable to build the adaptation and capabilities they need, they are increasingly using initialization or participation in business ecosystems.

    2. This book will make you the smartest person in the room

Often the word ecosystem is used inflationary and most decision makers mention companies like Tencent, Amazon or PingAn in the same breath. This book not only describes the process model that allows us to design business ecosystems, but also presents case studies from Europe, North America and Asia.
I look forward to the next time someone asks me, "What is the difference between the Platform Economy and Business Ecosystems?".

    3. There is a well thought out and workable process model to follow.

Design Thinking for Business Growth guides the practitioner to the goal through 4 Design Lenses. The four lenses initially help to explore the customer problem, create initial Minimum Viable Products, design the ecosystem based on the core value proposition (Minimum Viable Ecosystems), to the activities needed to scale the solution and realize exponential growth. It also shows how to transform the iterative and agile design into a solid growth strategy.

This book is invaluable. Well Done.

  • well structured book with excellent visualisation and helpful tools and templates

Michael Lewrick's books are all very helpful and reader-friendly, characterized by good visualizations and full of inspiration.
Already in the "Design thinking Playbook" the topic of business ecosystems was addressed and introduced. This book focuses on this topic
It has many good tools. Exercises and helpful examples.
The book helps with the optimal design and scaling of business ecosystems.

The four Design Lenses, from Design Thinking, to Lean Startup, the Ecosystem Design itself and the Scale Design lens, mesh well. They give a clear structure and the author gives good recommendations for action and shows when, how and with which measurable goals the different stages can be reached.

The book is absolutely worth reading and a must-have.

  • How to guide…..-for Business growth!

The fourth book in Wiley‘s Design Thinking Series
takes a broader view of design thinking. The book
focuses on one of the futures skills: THE DESIGN OF BUSINESS ECOSYSTEMS.

The book was recommended to me by colleagues who deal with growth strategies and I was not disappointed.

It not only shows the theory, but convinces with a step by step guide the application of business ecosystem design.

The book uses four design lenses: Design Thinking, Lean Start-up, Ecosystem Design and Scale methodology.

Recommended for strategy managers, product managers and innovation teams and all those who want to actively shape the future.

  • Great book and a must have for product managers

The book title is reminiscent of well-known works by Jeanne Liedtka "Designing for Growth". However, the content is completely different. Design thinking for Business Growth answers the often asked question of what comes after the platform economy and the use of network effects. The answer is "Business Ecosystem Design" and so the book provides guidance on how such systems can be designed and implemented and scaled. In doing so, the different perspectives provide structure via design lenses, which in turn are based on 10 mindshifts that are necessary to think in terms of business ecosystems. Great book and a must have for product managers and innovation managers!

  • The Big Design Thinking Lense

The new book by Michael Lewrick impressively shows how the Big Design Lense is applied. On 340 pages, a combination of Design Thinking and Systems Thinking is described, which makes it possible to design entire business ecosystems and create the basis for exponential growth.

All templates and methods are additionally
available for download, which facilitates the application for Design Thinking and Growth Teams.

The book meets the current zeitgeist and is probably the most comprehensive and best book on the subject that is currently on the market. Highly recommended!

In different periods, the design thinking mindset is updated or expanded with new impulses.

"Design Thinking for Business Growth" takes you on a journey describing 10 mindshifts that are central to growth and scaling activities in the future.

I especially like that the importance of business ecosystem design is considered. A concept that is often misapplied. This book shows impressively how such strategies can be approached!

Note: The book requires some prior knowledge of strategy, design thinking and business model innovation. Not a book for beginners!
