  • Excellent coaching is priceless!

I have tried coaching and felt that I did get something out of it, but I never continued with it. Dr Reynolds has an approach that sounds like something I could go the distance with. Her "questions seek answers; inquiry provokes insights" is changing the traditional line of coaching in an attempt to unwrap the critical thinking that is so necessary to break the rehearsed responses you get with question-answer responses. I like this author and will be using Coach the Person as a an important resource book in my library.

  • A Transformational book on Coaching.

Today we see that there are many people who use the figure of a "coach" when they want to improve some aspect of their physical, mental, spiritual condition or in matters related to their well-being or in managerial issues for continuous improvement. What Marcia Reynolds shows us in her book Coach the Person, Not the Problem, that coaching has been oriented towards the development of skills and abilities of people and individuals who have a high development potential

As the business world becomes more complex there is a greater need to seek help, advice, and support in a myriad of areas. It is at that moment when businessmen and entrepreneurs, managers and senior executives see in coaches someone who can help them in a continuous and very effective way. Marcia suggests us that as coaches we need to go beyond modifying behaviors and processes. These are an essential part of the learning and growing process of managers, executives and the development of the new leaders.

  • Every page has valuable insight

I have seen Marcia speak, in person, and on webinars, and she can distill the core components of coaching in a way that only a few can. She is an intuitive coach who stays in the moment with her clients, challenging and encouraging but pushing them with difficult questions to effectively get to the heart of their issues. I have now added the Kindle version to my library, having pre-ordered the book before its publication.

I look forward to continuing to learn from Marcia. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in understanding coaching, or to those who are coaches and wish to enhance their practice. Marcia is an exemplary coach and an equally great mentor.

  • Great resource for coaches and leaders alike

The author does an excellent job outline key coaching practices and differentiating what works and what doesn't as a coach. This book is a great resource for leaders as well - should they want to build their capacity to coach as a leader. I also appreciated the neuroscience behind the ideas in the book, which was a helpful addition to ground the ideas. Highly recommend this book.

  • Transformational Coaching vs. Transactional Coaching

This book has made a significant difference in my coaching practice! I feel like I’ve walked through a threshold of light and understanding.

The guidelines for success are beautifully articulated while allowing for the natural rhythm and flow of coaching. With every chapter I read, I began applying Marcia Reynolds' techniques in my coaching sessions and found it transformative for me and my clients. There is no turning back!

The author is focused on helping people see problems and possibilities in new ways vs. sorting through options and consequences with them. She is skilled at using metaphors to help readers fully embrace and understand the concepts she teaches. If you want people to feel heard, seen and valued, she clearly walks you through an effective step by step process.

Thank you for writing this book and sharing your skills with the world!

  • Manager as coach field guide

We’ve been talking about manager-as-coach for several years, and most organizations either ignored the leadership investment into making it happen, or committed to the idea without a definitive plan. Dr. Reynolds bridges this latter gap by providing specific recommendations on how to ‘coach the person, not the problem.’ Now let’s hope the path is clear for the commitment!
