Easy to park, Friendly students serving, Owner very representative of the locals, delicious food, location stunning, gorgeous village with its own windmill! And the sun shone!!! Worth every penny!! Will be back!
We stayed in the hotel in a room with a small balcony. rooms are not very big but everything you need is there. Eve is well organized and clean. Staff is very helpful. We had dinner there and chose the traditional Frisian menu (3 courses). We loved it, specially the Frisian stew with beef and traditional sausage in it. A very good price/quality ratio.
Spent two nights here on business. It is a great friendly place with good food and comfortable rooms. It is well worth visiting if you are in the area.if you are on a boating holiday you moor outside on the canal.
The staff at this small hotel rates A+ status and the location is wonderful for shedding the rigors of travel. Our room overlooked the canal and cantilever bridge, and the restaurant and lounge were on street (canal) level so both indoor and outdoor seating. A walk along the canal viewing beautiful homes and meeting friendly locals was an added bonus. Stop and talk to the Harbor Master and say Hallo to the boat travelers moored up for the night.
Stayed here for 1 night for work purposes. At arrival the restaurant was closed, too bad because the menu looked delicious! Room was clean and properly. Breakfast was excellent and had a lunch package for on the road. I think in the summer with all the surroundings ideal place to be!
Both check in by the husband and check out by the wife were done bluntly, no smile, no information, it didn't make us feel welcome. By the way : They have a sign on the wall that says Sssst I want to sleep long, but that must be a joke, First the walls are so thin you hear every noise and every crack when somebody else is walking to their room or opening a door, secondly the room was full of mosquitos, thirdly breakfast is only served till 9.30, and fourthly check out time is 10 AM. That's right 10 AM ! Of all our travels and the thousands of hotels all around the world we stayed in, we don't believe we ever came across such a customer unfriendly check out time. We also made the mistake to eat at the restaurant. Somehow the cook managed the cook the salmon as bland as possible. No taste at all. We stayed in a very similar hotel the night before, only there everything was perfect. Somehow we got the feeling that the people managing this hotel would rather be doing another job.âŚ
Excellent facilities in a small restaurant/hotel situated in the centre of a small village, next to the river. A great menu based mainly on local recipes and produce, Comfortable room. Attentive and courteous staff who helped make this a special holiday. The standards throughtout the hotel and restaurant were very high abd there ius a real attention to detail.
We didn't stay at the hotel but rather had aperatifs and snacks on the canal side terrace. Great location for the only bar / restaurant in town. Friendly helpful staff, a good range of snack, and drinks. The restaurant menu looked good but we had other plans. Pretty inn with a lovely location and a great place to while away the afternoon.
Small 7 room family owned hotel situated next to a busy canal and drawbridge with a patio extending over canal. Rooms are neat and clean. Staff always courteous and right there when needed. The restaurant has very good food. The breakfast was served at the table rather than a buffet. Very good. Excellent place to spend a leisurely afternoon sitting on the patio, sipping beer, talking to the other customers and watching the boats and drawbridge. We stayed in about 20 hotels on this trip and this one was definitely our favorite!
This great little hotel is situated on the corner next to the swing bridge in this small village beside the canal, about ten miles outside of Leeuvaden. It is a charming restaurant with five rooms above. The owners satisfied our every need during our recent three night stay with elderly relatives. Food was excellent. Local menu, not the cheapest, but brilliant delicious food. Attentive, individual service and fabulous rooms. The only slight problem is that the rooms are situated up a long steep flight of stairs, so grandmas may struggle. However, we would definitely go again.
