PS: I reduced the service stars significantly because the so called responsible for corporate sales , Kristof Debrauwer is as incompetent and rude as you will find. He does not understand the term hospitality at all.
I loved this hotel. All the staff were extremely friendly and efficient (from the reception to the restaurant and not forgetting the cleaning lady). We had a problem with noise in the room next door (loud music at 1am...). I called the reception, the problem was solved in less than 10 minutes!
The hotel needs an urgent upgrade into the 21th century. Rooms are worn out. The shower was beneath all standards. Only the evening diner and the breakfast were up to standard as well as the staff. So not the best price/quality ratio.
Check-in: the receptionist was very friendly and helpful, however, my room was not yet ready although it was well past check-in time. Had to wait over one hour in the restaurant. I booked a Superior Suite and was surprised to find myself in a room that looked completely different from the website photos (where a modern design was pictured). The room I ended up getting was definitely much larger, however, the interior was straight from the late '80s and had lots of wear & tear. Unfortunately, the A/C did not cool, WiFi was poor and there was no wired internet in the room. I can imagine this used to be a luxurious suite 30 years ago. It's definitely up for renovation now. On a positive note, the room was very clean, spotless. The room service /restaurant menu was very limitedâŚ
We stayed there for 1 night only and had no chance to use restaurant or bar. Lobby looks very good. Very nice friendly staff. Good looking room with bath in bathroom. Definitely worth to come back. The only minus is paid car park- 15 eur.
Hotel with old technology room key cards. If you keep your room key card for only one second in the vicinity of your cell phone, your key card doesn't function anymore. Stayed here for 2 nights, had to go 6 times to reception to reprogram my 2 key cards, really annoying. Staff is very helpfull. Windows cannot open.
If you want access to De Singel Arts Centre and the music conservatoire, this hotel is perfect. Staff couldnât be more friendly and helpful, parking convenient, but beware the low emission zone or youâll get a penalty
this hotel was our home during a tournament in the pool on the other side of the road. The stay was very nice: we had a good service and the meals were excellent. i recomment this hotel because of the atmosphere and quality.
The hotel is, in a no-nonsense way, more than average good in its category. Clean, spacious, with very good quality food in its restaurants and very adequate Wifi, fitness and other amenities. But they really excel in one specific thing: the quality of the staff. Apparently they love mto work there, because you do rarely see somebody walking around without a smile on her/his face. It is contagious and, since we are used to being in hotels many many times, we appreciate this very much because it is not always (... seldom ... even) the case in these hotels. We were with a group of more than hundred sports people dyrig four days, which presents for the personnel - at least - a 'challenge', in hotel-marketingspeak. But for the young staff of the newly renamed Mercure Hotel, thisâŚ
A very nice property with access to local transit if one wanted to do some sightseeing on their own. The staff are very good. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is good with many choices to start your day.

NH Utrecht hotel receives mixed reviews from guests, with some praising the friendly staff and convenient location near the train station. However, others complain about dirty rooms and unprofessional staff. The hotel offers spacious and clean rooms, a delicious breakfast, and good service. Some guests experienced issues with check-in, slow service, and non-functional amenities. Despite its central location, the hotel's decor is modern and pleasant. Overall, opinions on NH Utrecht are divided.
