  • My least favorite... Too many patterns...

    I recently picked up this book, Magical Creatures, Cute Animals, and Unicorns by this illustrator. As someone who has a soft spot for felines, it pains me to say this, but: this is my least favorite of the four titles. My disappointment is my fault, because I could have looked up a flip through. And, I didn't. This book is very, very heavy on Zentangle-inspired patterning. I find coloring oodles of Zen doodles stressful, instead of relaxing. I just don't see myself coloring in this that much. There are also a few sort of semi-wallpaper designs, another adult coloring phenomenon that I find myself both stressed out by and bored with. I don't know what order these books were released in, but I was hoping for some cute, more simplistic designs (more along the lines of Magical Creatures). I even find some of the images borderline creepy. My favorite page is probably the bicycle spread. If it wasn't for all the patterns, the top hat and cane spread would have probably tied with it. Hopefully, I can come up with some creative ways of coloring in some of the other pages. When I ignore the Zentangle-inspired patterns, like some better colorists do, it just looks like I've been lazy (at least to me).

    it's a fun book. not actually a million cats, in fact some pages don't have cats on them at all, just random little cute things. i dislike how the book opens and how the pages don't perferate but it is nice and cute to carry around for a lil coloring

    Each page only have a few cats. They are cute, but artworks are too simple. I can only give 3 stars.

  • Cute but small drawings

    Such a cute coloring book, but it has such small drawings that it’s hard to color. If it was a little bigger it would be perfect!
