Stayed here for a work conference. Very convenient and centrally located for quick access to subway, Times Square and Central Park. Many food options surrounding the hotel. Food inside the hotel is very expensive. Stayed on the 41st floor and elevators came quickly despite hotel being fully booked.Nearby activities: Central Park, Times Square, Broadway, Radio City and NBC Studios are all less than a 5 to 10 minute walk away.Food & drinks: Expensive food and drinks inside, just walk outside the hotel and you'll be surrounded by authentic NYC food at reasonable prices.
I didn't stay in a room. I was there to work a high event. The ballrooms ate stunning. It's a beautiful hotel. Hopefully in the future I will treat myself to a stay.Nearby activities: It's located in the hub of midtown. Radio Center and NBC are steps away.Safety: Safe, but I would always recommend remaining cautious everywhere, at all times.Walkability: Very walkable.Food & drinks: Great bakeries and restaurants are close by.
I am a Hilton Honors member and have stayed twice in the past 30 days at this hotel. The rooms are worn - wallpaper peeling in bathroom, carpet old. One of the two rooms had mold in shower tile. Upon check in I waited over 30 minutes to reach the front desk- only one person on staff. In the first room I checked into the curtains were open and non- functioning. They could not be closed. Tried to call front desk twice and no answer. Finally, walked down stairs back to front desk and waited another 30 minutes in line. No rooms available and placed in a small room with no credit. Asked for manager and they said nothing could be done. Sad to see the incredibly poor management and lack of investment in this hotel.Walkability: Hotel is well located but hotel rooms are worn and grungy.
Tout est top. EfficacitĂ© Ă lâamĂ©ricaine. PrĂ©voir toutefois dans le budget 30$ par personne et par nuitĂ©e de taxe hĂŽteliĂšre. Mais service impeccable !
The hotel is absolutely gigantic (it's the biggest Hilton in the world, and one of the biggest hotels in all of the USA) and is located just a stones throw away from Times Square and Central Park. You really can't argue with the location, which is why it is where it is! The room was on the 9th floor and was palatial, but the bathroom was tatty with peeling wallpaper. Otherwise the bed was comfortable. No tea or coffee making facilities.Bear in mind that this part of Midtown is one massive tourist trap which brings me to the infamous $35 daily âdestination chargeâ. It's basically a tourist tax which gets levied onto your bill whether you like it or not, and although you can redeem it against hotel services (bar, restaurant, coffee shop, laundry etc), it is basically a con trick to keep you in the building and spend even more. Everything is hideously overpriced so your 35 bucks won't go very far no matter how generous it initially sounds. It's a lose-lose because if you do buy anything you will inevitably spend more on top of the $35. Don't buy anything and you get charged the $35 a day anyway (or you already paid it as part of a pre-pay rate)And it's busy. Very busy. You'll be waiting in long lines to check-in and check-out at peak times (join Hilton Honors, get the app on your phone to do online check-in/out!). There will be more queues (lines) for elevators (there are four different elevator banks serving different levels of the tower, and yes - they are always busy.In short, it's a hotel that caters for tourists and it just eats them up and spits them back out again. If you get put in here by your travel agent or airline as part of a package deal and you don't know any better then its perfect for a first time stay in NYC, then it's fine. If you want a more personal and intimate hotel experience in Manhattan my recommendation is look elsewhere.
