The Hilton Mauritius Resort & Spa offers a beautiful location with stunning views, well-maintained gardens, and great facilities including multiple pools and restaurants. Guests appreciated the beach and the overall ambiance of the hotel. However, service inconsistencies and issues with staff responsiveness were commonly reported. Some guests encountered problems such as room allocation policies, maintenance issues, and noise disturbances. While the dining options received mixed reviews, with some enjoying the quality, the buffet was criticized for lack of variety. Management responsiveness was highlighted positively by some, improving guest experiences after complaints. Overall, the hotel presents a blend of luxury and scenic beauty, but service quality remains a concern.

Beautiful location with stunning views. The resort has a number of great facilities including an infinity pool, jacuzzi, regular pool, spa, gym and 3 onsite restaurants and a buffet. Unfortunately, all 3 restaurants were not always all open which then forces you to the buffet which is fairly expensive for a buffet. Additionally, the nearest offsite restaurants are at sugar beach which is about a mile away and the road to the location isn't best for walking at night. That being said, the hotels Thai restaurant was fantastic!Generally, nice holiday only negative is with the staff. We had 3 incidents with the hotel of which management apologised and offered 2 free cocktails. Given the brand, and our almost exclusive use of Hilton for our travel accommodation, I'd have expected more.
To the island of Mauritius went to get a private holiday like Maldives, because Mauritius ,Seychelles and Maldives always stand in the same plane .To our regret it is not a paradise island at all ..we came out of season, because from May to September it is winter ,but it is the only time when there is no rain ..start with the island The ocean is cold (22C) , dirty enough .all the bottom in a shallow reef (be sure to take slippers for swimming ), the sand is not soft ,large enough, barefoot .Scarce enough nature ,greenery is scarce Now the hotel The hotel itself is clean ,the staff is relatively friendly ,from the hotel you can see beautiful sunsets ,the food is delicious We had breakfast and dinner. Keep in mind that drinks are not included in the price There is a plus in restaurants Ala Carte can dine for free (highlighted items )Lots of aquatic entertainment. There is a tennis court .beds comfortable ,cleaning done twice a day 2 bottles of water in the room Now the downside We had room 2093 ,relatively far from the main road ,but from the noise it didn't save ..great problems with the noise insulation of the whole hotel If you wanted privacy. It's not here, very many people, the beach beds are always busy, the pools are cold Restaurants have to wait in line for the table. The food choice is small , but everything is delicious enough The ocean is fenced with floats. You can't swim behind them, depth of at most 1 meter Hotel dies at 11:00 p.m., everything closes. Wifi works weakly ,will not work
We stayed at Hilton Mauritius for ten nights and are Hilton Diamond members. We could smell sewage in the bathroom, complained, maintenance flushed the drains but the sewage smell kept coming back during the whole stay. This was really bad. We could hear banging of doors, people on balconies and hotel cleaners making up rooms and rearranging furniture from 7am. Our air con was off but we could hear the hum from other air conditioners. Guests get a special card for a beach towel so if you leave it behind, youâll have to go to the reception to get a new one - without it you wonât get a beach towel. There is a bizarre rule about guests having to park ânose outâ where security cannot explain why but will hassle you if you donât (stress you donât need on holidays). Mauritius is beautiful and people are warm but we didnât like this hotel, found it very noisy and badly maintained and the smell of sewage was terrible. We came here to relax but could not.
Update- After encountering less than favorable service, management not only addressed the issue but went above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction. Rajoo, Manager personally approached me to apologize and to ensure that the remainder of my stay was enjoyable. Rajooâs dedication to guest satisfaction was evident, and his proactive approach made a significant difference in my stay. The real test came when a global outage resulted in my flight being canceled for over 48 hours. During this stressful time, Rajoo was incredibly thoughtful and allowing me to stay in my current room, which was a premium upgrade and have dinner free, without any additional charge. This gesture was greatly appreciated and eased the inconvenience of the extended stay. The housekeeping team at the Hilton Mauritius Resort continue to deserve a special mention. They are absolutely amazing. They maintain the property and ensure it is ALWAYS in pristine condition. This property has to be one of the cleanest resorts I've ever stayed in. The attention to detail and the cleanliness of the rooms and common areas were truly impressive.Hilton Mauritius Resort & Spa exemplifies how quality management and a dedicated staff can turn challenging situations into positive experiences. Their ability to deliver exceptional service, especially when "life gives you lemons," is commendable. I highly recommend this resort for anyone looking for an enjoyable stay.
I just spent a week at this excelent hotel. I was last there in 2010, it was excelent then, but even better now. Due to unforseen circumstances, my grlfriend and young son could not join me, but the hotel staff were professional, caring and made my stay perfect. The hotel is very professionally managed, located on a great beach (Flic en Flac), has well appoointed rooms and high quality bathrooms. The gardens (and everything else) are extremely well maintained. Food and drink is expensive, but predictable for a high end five star resort hotel. The beach is kept very clean, although the sand is coarse with some bits of coral, so you need to wear shoes to walk any distance. There is a river at the end of the beach, possible to cross if go into the sea and waist up to your waste, but would hugely benefit from an ornate bridge to allow a full walk up the rest of the beach. One of my favourite hotels....and I have stayed in quite a few !
This newly renovated hotel looks amazingly beautiful. In particular, the garden is a gem with diverse plants. Some areas seemed redone and plants need further growth, but the area with established trees and flowers are so nicely designed and the pond linked with the pool area is lovely. The Flic en Flac beach itself is picturesque. The sea is shallow for swimming or snorkeling, so itâs important to check and wait for the high tide. This long beach was better for a hike. For swimming, we mostly used the pool. The adult pool is beautiful and calm. There are plenty of beach chairs on the beach and around the swimming pools. All restaurants and bars look posh and provide foods and drinks of high quality at reasonable prices. The hotel offered a variety of live music and performances for lunch time and evening entertainment. I particularly loved to listening to lovely songs mixed with the sound of waves at the bar next to Les Coquillages. The spa is under reconstruction so sauna and steam room are not expected to be around until end of December 2023. Massages were available in two designated guest rooms with massage beds or on the beach. I preferred the one on the beach. Staff members were welcoming, friendly and helpful. There are wild life such as lizards, birds, frogs and cats. Donât get scared by the frog chorus in the evening. Unlike European ones, they stop singing around midnight. And according to our search they help controlling mosquitoes. On rainy days and in the evening, baby frogs can hop around, so mind your steps.
