The Parador de Lleida offers a stunning setting, blending modern amenities with the historic charm of an old monastery. Guests praise the impressive restaurant and the quality of food, though some critique the service as inconsistent. While the hotel boasts spacious rooms and a beautiful lobby, concerns arise about the surrounding area's safety and parking availability. Breakfast service is noted to be problematic during peak times, impacting guest experiences. Despite these issues, many guests find the hotel well-situated in the city, making it a suitable base for exploring Lleida. Overall, the Parador de Lleida presents a unique hotel experience but may require improvements in customer service and operations.

The parador is a reconstruction in an old monastery so the facilities are modern on an old backdrop so not quite your usual parador. I stayed as an overnight between 2 destinations. The parador is centrally located in the town, a few steps from the main street and the mostly ruined castle and hollow cathedral. The location is essentially in a project/social housing, the view from my room was of laundry on a stick and metal shuttered windows. The streets are a Babel of arabic, african and eastern european patois, with almost exclusively men (plus a couple of ladies of the night) hanging around adjacent to the hotel. Many shops are bordered up and restaurants closed. I did not feel comfortable going out after nightfall. The hotel provided 'secure' (but take no responsibility for security) parking a few steps away and an exorbitant price, but such is having a monopoly on secure parking. The restaurant is in a domed chapel and a delightful setting with again prices one expects in a gilded cage but solid food and wine list.
One of the best hotels we have stayed in. The lobby is amazing. The rooms are modern and comfortable. The service is excellent. The restaurant is outstanding in the quality of the wines, dishes, service and the ambiance. Breakfast at the hotel is also very good with a range of regional and cosmopolitan dishes. The freshly squeezed orange juice was a great start for the day. The only thing we would have liked slightly different is to be able to park the car nearby at a reasonable cost. The hotel has a solution but we opted to park for free on the street opposite to the river. Itâs only about 8 min walk but sometimes, especially late at night, we would have loved be able to park at or nearer to the hotel. Highly recommend.
The hotel itself is stunning! It's very nicely built all over and the rooms are also huge.We were 1st given a room that was facing an office building but after asking the reception for a new room, it was arranged quickly. The new room was very comfortable and beautiful, very big and also had a huge bathroom. The gym was nice with a great view and a small balcony. While the restaurant was good in quality of the food, the service was very unprofessional and didn't meet any fine dining standards. Our waiter was very sloppy and rude, clearly no proper experience or training. It was also surprising that both the restaurant as well as the hotel bar closed at 23.00! There were quite many people still hoping to get a drink after that time. The breakfast was a bit of a disaster as there were a lot of people eating at the same time, and the staff didn't fill in any of the food that ran out so the customers just stood there waiting.Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this hotel although we had a decent stay. The price-quality ratio isn't really met when it comes to the overall experience and service.
Unfortunately this hotel is in what I would define as the ugliest and most unpleasant city Iâve seen in years. This is not the hotelâs fault, of courseâŚUnfortunately it also feels like it is run by amateurs with no idea of customer service or just a bit of love for their job. The only person who was really pleasant and knew what to do was a young, tall gentleman who served at breakfast. The others had no idea, including at reception or at the bar (btw, how come a Negroni cocktail cost much less than a very simple Tanqueray gin (the super basic one) and tonic?Hotel is located in a very run down area (see pictures), going out wasnât a pleasant experience and actually the city has absolutely nothing nice to offer⌠I payed the hotel in advance but decided to leave early anyway, it was a good idea I enjoyed the other city and the other hotel much more than this. If you really donât need to stay in this city just donât bother stopping by
It is not easy to find the entrance of the hotel and also the indoor garage is not easy to find. But you will succeed. The staff is very helpful and you can indeed park your car in a safe garage more or less aside the hotel. It is very well situated in the center of Lleida so you can walk to all sights of this beautiful city.I would suggest to have dinner here too as the restaurant is nicely situated in an old chapel, part of the parador. There are several menus and we advise the degustation menu. We had the 50 euro one , five courses, but you can chose on for 80 euro too. We loved the salade with meat of partridge and raspberry dressing and the piece of meat from suckling pig. But all was excellent, well served and creative.
Because of the red covid zone we asked several times to get a refund but they always refused. Other hotels in Nerja and Ibiza refunded us without any problem. They are taking advantage of the covid and this is NOT client friendly!
