  • MUST READ for every Manager, CEO, or Executive

This is a must-read for managers, CEOs, and leaders of any company of any size. I've questioned my own management and leadership styles at times and this book goes in-depth on exactly how Toyota became such a formidable force in the auto industry through 2 main pillars of philosophy - Kaizen (continuous improvement) and respect for people. Take notes people!

  • Reads like a text book

Be prepared for extremely long chapters, and lots of Lean learning references.
I feel like this book could have been about half the length that it is.
But I am not a book reader, so my opinion may not be as good as someone who reads a lot.

  • Updated to add an ESG agenda?

I hoped to get a book that was true to TPS and tought manufacturing best practices. I assumed an updated book would have minor additions and some modern content. I am several chapters into my first day and I've read many platitudes that may fit the author's desire to feel better than thou, but do little to explain manufacturing for profit.

  • Too dry and loses interest fast

I really wanted to like this book more but it lost me very quickly. The tone is dry and very academic and got repetitive and boring very quickly.
