Review of Melia Villaitana: Beautiful Hotel with Spacious Rooms and Stunning Views

The hotel and facilities are beautiful… HOWEVER… if you are coming to play golf… don’t bother… they do not give priority to guests for tee times, there seems to be no limit as to how far in advance people can book tee times, tee times are are far too close together, and there are rarely any marshals…. The result is that a round of golf can take 5+ hours and you spend most Of the time queuing on tees with several other groups. It’s not fun at all. Which is a shame as the courses are beautiful but the course management is amateur at best.

We had five days at this large hotel. My wife described it like Las Vegas, built to look authentic but isn’t. Sounds like a negative but it wasn’t really. The two golf courses were good , the second day’s golfing was very slow though 5 1/2 hours for 12 holes .I got sick of waiting and walked in. It’s a 12 euro taxi into Benidorm, so it’s not bob in and out place , but it’s far enough away from the mayhem. We wouldn’t go back but enjoyed the stay.

Visually pleasing , but that is about it , unless you are local or part of the exclusive "level" the service it terrible non existent. Have to pay extra for everything, do not even have a kettle in the room , for a 4* it is not good. Asking reception for anything is a waste of time. 4* for views 1* for service not worth the money been to better hotels for half the price.

Stunning hotel, the pools are amazing and well Kept. The entertainment was great and the food was lovely. We are at the snack van by the pool And also the little restaurant. Both meals were lovely. I jogged round the hotel on their route every morning it was lovely. Staff so friendly and no fights for sun beds. I loved it here and would definitely come back

We have stayed at a lot of good hotels around the world but the Melia Villaittana takes some beating. We stayed there for 10 days in April in a level room. The room was great with a fabulous view. I must mention the staff who were first class, a special mention for Cecilia on reception and Theresa in the lounge. We will be back.

This hotel is HUGE, and it took us about a week to find ourselves back in our room :) I don't know how crowded this hotel gets at the peak, but during October, there was plenty of space everywhere. The Buffer restaurant is somewhat repetitive in the menu, with no theme evenings, etc. The rooms are nice and comfortable.
