Mixed Reviews: Connectivity Problems, Slow Response Times, and Component Requirements

Needed a new doorbell camera so I decided to try the Blink doorbell camera, and I love it!

We have used Blink cameras for over a year... 10 cameras in all now. I was the primary user, but today, my wife finally thought she would add the app to her phone. No big deal, I simply went into my app to add a new user on the account, but couldn't find how to do it. A quick google search gave me the instructions, but still, couldn't find the option in the app.

Frustrated, I actually called the Blink help line and was surprised to hear the agent tell me to login as myself on my wife's phone to get her access. The is no way to add her as a separate user.

I asked about kids... if I login as me, then they have all of the admin privileges to delete recordings, cameras, etc. The agent's response was the same... login as me. There is no way to create a user on the account with different privileges. Shocking.

At work, we use a Ring setup and have 17 different users, that have appropriate privileges, etc. Never thought that was a feature, just a normal user need.

Bottom line, the cameras and doorbell are good, but the lack of flexibility would have me using a different system in the future. Seems like a simple feature to add... and I'll be happy to update my review if they do.

Well it’s worth the money you pay for it. I’ll leave it at that. More expensive I would expect better quality. These are good until the warranty runs out. Lmao

When it works it’s amazing but out of nowhere it completely stopped working. Don’t connect to my wifi, and the app won’t detect the doorbell at all now. I took the batteries out, reset it and everything. Nothing seems to work so now I just have a useless camera that won’t do what it’s made to do 🤷‍♀️

My primary gripe is that it's so slow when responding to a door chime. When someone rings the doorbell, I can respond within a few seconds with the app. When I hit "play" on the doorbell, it literally takes 20+ seconds before I can interact with the guest at my door. Half the time they're already walking away before I can answer. It's frustrating. Everything else is adequate with this device, except the delay. I may return it for that reason alone.

Easy to install and setup. Clearer pictures than I expected from a less expensive device. Good quality pics even at night. Motion detection is good and I can block areas I need such as the areas where cars go by frequently.
