I'm thoroughly impressed with this grinder. It's exceptionally well-constructed, boasting a substantial weight and the precision of CNC machining. This grinder stands out for its ability to deliver a consistently even grind, whether it's for a coarse French Press or a fine Espresso.

Moreover, its ergonomic design ensures that it's both user-friendly and easily adjustable to achieve the desired coarseness. However, it's essential to note that its size and weight place it on the edge of being a viable option for travel, and it's not suitable for backpacking adventures.

We live in the country and have occasional power outages after storms down trees across electric lines or ice brings the lines down. For those of us who just must have coffee while the power is out or while camping, this grinder is perfect! It is small enough to store in a drawer when not in use or to take on a trip. Just pull out your French press and this grinder, and your bag of coffee beans, find hot water, and voila! Coffee. We have a gas cooktop, so we just need a match. I love this grinder!

Like many of the other reviewers, I was a bit surprised that a grinder this inexpensive did as good a job as this one does.

I'm a little bit less forgiving of the unimpressive machining than some of the other reviewers, though. The knurling for grabbing while you spin the crank is not crisp enough, and the threads of the screw-on base don't pull the base tightly enough to the body--if you place your hand on the body wrong, the threads can actually loosen in use.

Still, it really does make a pretty darn good grind for the price. If you don't mind being a little careful to make up for the shortcomings in the aluminum outside, I think most coffee lovers will be happy with the quality of the stainless steel burrs inside.

The cast aluminum chassis of this grinder is all one piece, it is very sturdy in the hand when grinding. Made an excellent "fine" grind for espresso using a Breville machine today, with little dust or static like you'd find in an electric burr grinder. Grind operation is SMOOTH! I have been using setting "2" for espresso.

EDIT: I am very impressed in the taste of the espresso grinds that this grinder can give me. It is super uniform, and we are no longer using the old Cuisinart electric coffee grinder anymore. The grind is everything, see the attached photo. This is a true 5-star grinder for this coffee-newb.

I'm impressed by the machining of this grinder. It is certainly heavier (more dense) that I expected. It is compact for portability, but again, it is also quite heavy - just something to be aware of.
The upside to the weight is that it is nice and solid and I suspect that weight helps it lean into a stronger and finer grind size.
I haven't invested in a countertop BURR grinder yet, so I will be using this one almost daily...it feels durable to hold up to that frequent use, but we'll see. I will try to update if I learn something new in that regard.
