A Therapeutic Journey by Alain de Botton is a book that provides insight into mental illness and offers guidance on finding oneself again. It covers topics such as relationships, anxiety, depression, and the impact of childhood experiences. The writing style is elegant, with references to art and culture. While some found it helpful and relatable, others felt it lacked practical solutions and was too privileged in its perspective.A Therapeutic Journey: Lessons from the School of Life: Amazon.co.uk: de Botton, Alain:

Another great book from this author – highly recommend, and will look for his next one!
Know the state of your mental wellness.
Never underestimate the power of early childhood impressions on way you live ur life. Your defensiveness may have roots there.
In relationships, its OK to show your displeasure and be vulnerable...boundaries help.
Art over years has helped calm minds. It highlights the common things around us that give immense pleasure but go unrecognized...look at crushed pillow on ur bed after good night rest.
At the same time modernity has many elements that provoke unrest unless one is mindful...meritocracy often leads to inference that those who are not successful are lazy or stupid, which is harsh untrue assessment.
Book has several such beautiful lessons shared in digestible short chapters
I read this book in less than a week in spare moments. It was my first book to read in a long time, as I had developed a less than desirable habit of spending all spare time scrolling frivolous ‘stuff’ rather than immersing myself in books.
I picked the right book to inspire a return to my loved habit of reading meaningful things. What a wonderful journey Alain took me on; something that came just at the right time for me. So, thank you Alain - much appreciated (an understatement).
As a dedicated follower of The School of Life, I was excited to explore "A Therapeutic Journey: Lessons from The School of Life." However, the book pales compared to its predecessor, "An Emotional Education."
The downfall lies in the vague and general examples, lacking the depth that made "An Emotional Education" so engaging. What's sorely missed is Alain de Botton's wit and humour, which brought a unique charm to previous works but is conspicuously absent here.
While "A Therapeutic Journey" imparts valuable insights into personal growth, it fails to capture the magic of The School of Life's earlier works. It's a decent read but lacks the specificity and humour that made its predecessors truly exceptional.
If it were up to me, I'd have every mental health professional read this book as part of the education. I'd also give every person struggling with mental health a copy.
In addition to general life advice, there are some excellent insights on love and maintaining relationships.
"A Therapeutic Journey" falls flat as a book that promises insight and connection. Unfortunately, it reads more like a dry essay. The lack of personal touch makes it difficult to connect with the material, leaving me disengaged and uninterested. The author's approach, while informative, lacks the charisma needed to sustain my attention. The book's overly formal tone and lack of relatable anecdotes make it, in my opinion, a tedious read, ultimately failing to deliver on its potential to truly connect with readers on a personal level. I read about a third of this book and just couldn't go any further.

This adult coloring book contains repeat images and uninspired quotes, which some find insulting. However, others enjoy the cute pictures and find coloring to be a fun way to relax. The book has received mixed reviews, with some praising it as a great gift idea and others disappointed by the quality and repetitive nature of the drawings. Overall, it offers a decent way to unwind and express oneself creatively.

The Eufy 2K doorbell offers good camera quality and easy installation. However, some users have reported issues with the battery life not lasting as long as advertised. The doorbell provides peace of mind with its intuitive mobile app and lack of subscription fees. It is a cost-effective alternative to competitors like Ring. The product has received positive reviews for its picture quality and functionality.

This collection of 30 reviews showcases the benefits of using the Philips Airfryer, a kitchen appliance that allows users to fry food without oil. It is a sleek and compact device that is easy to use and clean, and it reduces energy bills by replacing the oven for small meals. The device can be controlled with a touchscreen or a mobile app, which offers extra recipe ideas. Users praised the quality of the food produced, such as crispy and healthy fries, sausages and potatoes. Complaints were minor, such as the size, dim display, or burnt chips.
