Simplicity yet substance beyond words
It's not often I give a 5 star review for a book but this one certainly deserves the praise. It is a concise, simple and easy to read road map to structuring your life for peace, happiness and fulfillment. So many books, articles and films outline a 10 point, 12 point or more complicated series of advisements to attaining a better you but this book in the wisdom of Michael Ruiz and his mentors gives you a true understanding of knowing yourself and what is the real foundation of personal peace, or as he puts it, "living in heaven'. This book is a must for all mankind to making this a better world for all of us. Thank you Michael.

Highly recommend for anyone seeking inner peace.
One of my clients recommended this book during a conversation after I commented on his ability to stay calm during a stressful situation. I did thank him profusely after reading it.
4 basic tenets:
Be a kind person (Be impeccable with your word),
Don't allow your emotions to control you or your reactions (Don't take anything personally),
Don't judge people (Don't make assumptions)... someone could be just having a bad day, give them a break,
And after you accept the first 3 principles (Always do your best) once you know you gave the situation your best effort, you can free yourself from self guilt and doubt.
Personal growth books can't directly change lives, but they can plant seeds.........................

This book helps you see human relationships from a different vantage point. It defuses animosity on my part and brings peace and good will to my heart. It really feels empowering! I just need to be more mindful about it.

Honestly, my favorite book of all time. Whenever people ask which book they recommend, I always mention this one first!

Not too thrilled honestly and I’ve read some good self-help books..the sentences were repeating themselves in several ways, pretty much sounding the same, dragging the point out a little too much. Didn’t really care to get through the whole book.

I've read cover to cover many times!
I've read this book cover to cover many times. It was first introduced to me in a group therapy setting. The therapist read the 1st agreement to us, then two through four a few days later. As soon as I heard this complete, I ordered it the same night and had it the next day. Read it cover to cover, again, the 1st night I had the book in hand. These four agreements changed my life immensely. I stop and think every single day on if I'm using the agreements or not, and if not, I adjust my thinking/behavior to abide by them. The parts before and after the agreements are a bit boring, but still enjoyable. This book is worth it's weight in gold even if only the agreements part is read. Love, Love, Love it.

It is easy to read, written in a conversational tone. The perspective and style of writing is unique -- it sounds like an old Native American wise man. Everything that is shared is very helpful in terms of seeing the world and understanding life in a way to be more spiritually aware and happy.
